You could try to make an leather cover, which holds plastic pocket (or sheet protector or clear plastic folder or punched pocket; don't know the right word for Klarsichthülle in german ). They can be hold by 4 binder screws (hope this is the right word). I Always imagined to make something like this for me, but never realized that idea. Hope this helps you, Jazznow

anyone use gum tragacanth? How are the results? I read in a book, that bone glue will work, too. I tried it, but had the problem, that i was not able to put it on the edge only. So i ruined my whole piece. After that desaster, i did not finish my edges in any way for a long time, which was ok, as long as i wanted for most of my pieces a rustic, old, used style. But know i want to improve my edges and make them look proffessional (as far as it is possible for an non-professional like me^^). So i would be glad about more feedback on the different methods. Thank u Jazznow

Maybe you want to have an additional address: I get my tools and supplies from www.beargallery.de. The have tooling leather, too, so you might have a try. Usually i buy my leather from worring leder (excellent price) or from www.lederkram.de (they sell scraps with a good price, so attractive for just experimenting). Greeds Jazznow

Jazznow replied to Jazznow's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
The last project i made of an scrap piece yesterday while watching tv. Its an dove of piece, which i will dye later and maybe put as an patch (or label or application or so, dont know the right word in english) on a jacket or an cloth bag. So, this was the last of my latest projects. I hope you like them and when you have hints, what i can do better, please let me know. Greetings Jazznow -
My last projects

This project is a x-mas present for my brother, who is in a rebellios phase So i made this carving of a protester after an photography i saw in Berlin recently. The design of this pouch is adapted from an really great german leather artist, named René Berends. I have just made it a little bit smaller. it has not any finish right now, but it will get a portion a saddle soap tomorrow or so. Next project in next posting -
Hi guys, i'd like to show you some pics of my last projects. The first is a belt pouch i made for a friend of my girl friend, who does Geo-Caching and need something to put the GPS-System in. Its a very simple pattern, on the back are two slots for the belt. It can be closed by the thread, which is wraped around the rivet. The bag is dyed with fiebings oil dye, got some kind of antique finish (don't know exactly which one) and is finished with Satin Shene. My dyeing trials are still some kind of batik style. I never get an even look. Next project in next post

Huh... i hoped i could grab some donuts on my way to the Show Off Section. Next time i'll buy some, which are only for me However, i'm quite impressed of the things, some of you can craft. Sadly, there is no need of holsters in germany, otherwise i would try to make some :D cu Jazznow

Hello out there, i'd like to introduce myself to the community. I'm a 24 years old student from Germany and i'm doing leatherworks as a hobby in my spare time. I'm working with leather since 5 years (more or less) and was in the last time on some markets, where artisans can exhibit and sell their works. I prefer creating handbags and belt pouches but am not constricted on them. You can check some of my works on my german website: http://www.kobiwelten.de . The third point "Lederarbeiten" means leatherwork, there you can just click a little bit around. (sadly there are only older works, because i don't have updated the site for a long time). The attachment is an work i did for an acquaintance. Bag n baggage is the name of his band, an the piece can be imposed on an guitar strap. so long Jazznow P.S. please excuse my bad english
