    My Bracelet

I believe Brian's on vacation and won't be near any pc's for a while. This is a Trenza De Doce Braided Kangaroo bracelet.
  4. Here's a tutoial I made for the 16 part x 16 bright 2 pass Type 1 Pineapple Knot. This one is from a base 9px8b Turks Head with a 7px8b Turk's Head interweave, which gives 3 zigzags in the finished knot. Hope it helps. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=galleryℑ=7662
  5. Sidney's site is down right now but this thread in the stickies may still help. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=12739
  6. I found 40" of 3mm ($3.99) round braided lace at Hobby Lobby and tied another of Don Burrhus's Sailor's Cross. It came out really hard to the touch, which I liked. Not much scrap left over when finished.

    My Work Belt.

I know how you are about your work, lol, you probably are concentrating on some little thing that is "bothering" you on this braid, and that's great, as you've done this on a lot of your work, pointing it out to us wanting to learn; but this one looks so straight and consistant I'm really impressed. I'm guessing PJ's fid has a minature transit on it. LOL

    My Work Belt.

    Awesome work Brian!
  9. No problem. If want to try it with a Pineapple Knot, I have a tutorial to make a 16 part x 16 bright 2 pass, Type 1 Pineapple Knot. This one is from a base 9px8b Turks Head with a 7px8b Turk's Head interweave, which gives 3 zigzags in the finished knot. PK tut If you just want the Turk's Head, you can use the grid and just follow one of the lines instead of both of them. You can tie either the 9part x 8 bight TH or the smaller 7p x 8b TH. Hope it helps. Rick
  10. This thread may help. Thread on scarf slides.
  11. Here's a tutorial I made for a Pineapple Knot that's just a little bigger than the knot in your photo. My link Hope it helps.

    A Belt.

    Really cool Brian!
  13. Here's another shark tooth trophy key fob using a 9p x 8b Turks Head for a base knot. You can pick sharks teeth up off the beach at Venice Beach here in Florida all year long. The core is a 3/4" wooden ball for the 16 part x 16 bright 2 pass Type 1 Pineapple Knot in the back of the 1st picture. The 8 strands coming from the Matthew Walker knot are fed thru 8 different 1/8" holes drilled thru the top of the ball and out the sides. I pulled them as tight as I could, cut and then burned the ends of them slightly larger than the holes to keep them from pulling back thru. There is a 5/16" hole drilled for the 8 strands in the top but the bottom by the shark tooth has a slightly larger 3/8" hole. l used some epoxy to lock the tooth in place before tightening up the PK around the core. This is tied really tight in black and red Cross Lace cord and is hard as a rock.
  14. Entiendo, I just posted the link, the tut is from Don Burrhus. Really looking forward to your pictures.
  15. Awesome! I like it a lot.
  16. Thanks entiendo, I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing one out of roo! Hi Joe, here's a pic with a penny included to give you an idea of the size.
  17. There's another tutorial for a Sailor's Cross by Don Burrhus here: Sailor's Cross tut I made about 300 of these so far, they make great gifts as everyone loves them. Hope you guys like 'em, too! The camouflaged one went w/our nephew to Afghanistan.

    Turkshead

Hi Joe, I've used the GM to size a knot before, kind of. See headhunter thread here. If you match the strand width size to your strands, then set the strand gap size to three times that, you'll be close if you're tripling the passes, maybe a little short as your bights will only show 1 width on each end. If you want to try some math, Sidney Wood has a lot of stuff I posted here: See post# 7 here. I hope this helps.
  19. The second photo looks like it has 8 bights. Citizen Kate uploaded my tutorial to make a 16 part x 16 bright 2 pass, Type 1 Pineapple Knot from a base 9px8b Turks Head with a 7px8b Turk's Head interweave here: PK tut Hope it helps. Rick
  20. Hi Acox4t4, Your reins look really cool. As far as burying ends, see Dan Alaska's great tut. He shows tucking the ends a little over half way down the page. I found that tucking the standing end first a BIG help in my knots turning out right. Type 1, 2 pass PK (from a 7 x 6 turks head)
  21. Bud made us a great tut here: Knife lanyard single and double Did you guys know that when you're tightening up the knife lanyard knot that you fold it towards the loop (at the 4th pic of the tutorial) and NOT towards the two open strands? LOL This started when I asked Don Burrhus if the loop on the KLK was supposed to be together because every one I've tried they come out looking diff than the ones in the books, pics etc. I have been trying to tie this for the longest time and couldn't get it. LOL Thanks for the lesson Don!!! Don's great site My first doubled knife lanyard knot:
  22. I like the red, too. Looks great.
  23. I hope no one's getting tired of Pineapple Knot pics. lol A while back I made another 16p x 16b, 2 pass, Type 1 PK key fob in Univ. of FL Gators colors. I used Cross Lace cord throughout. I started with the 4 strand round braid that is joined together at the base with a constrictor knot. Then I passed the ends through a 5/16" drilled hole in a 20 mm round wooden bead and tied an 8 strand Mathew Walker knot. The ends of the cords have a sort of half round ball on their ends from burning with a lighter. This PK is dressed extremely hard and tight. It feels like a rock and almost everyone that holds it comments on how hard it is; one co-worker even asked how rope can be so hard. lol And another one with just a simple loop.
  24. A new command center! I like it.
