I use the mini-techlite dual LED "Larry Robinson" model and have found it to be extremely helpful. My problem was also shadows that were hard to get rid of with typical swing arm lamps. The mini-techlite does take a little getting used to, but I have found it great for keeping the light focused in front of me and on the work and the magnifiers are a great help. I use mine at my regular job as well which involves examining electronic circuit boards and was the primary reason I opted for the dual LED model. The extra illumination provided by a wider field of light has been well worth it. My two cents worth... PS- A note on the photo. I have modified the headband slightly on mine to allow it to pack up a little flatter when I travel. The headband is all one piece as they come from QED Lighting.

There is a list of publications (many of which will be out of print) that appeared in the Sep/Oct 1991 issue of the LCSJ. I would scan it but I am sure "the journal" owns the copyrite. Just a "heads up" for those that have issues that go back that far. "Lonesome Dove"

Looking for two good books, what do you recommend?
lonesome dove replied to Kustomizer's topic in Resources
Two that I have found to be very helpful are "The Leatherworking Handbook" by Valerie Michael (ISBN 0-304-34511-3) for bag construction and projects and "Sheridan Style Carving" by Bob Likewise (ISBN 0-9679647-0-9) for learning to draw your own Sheridan style patterns. LD -
Just browsing the posts and the thought occurred to me that the little sewing notion "pricking" wheels would speed up this process considerably. LD

Very nice work Storm. Very clean. I especially liked the detail in the leaves. Keep up the good work. LD

Greetings to everyone on the board. I have been doing leathercraft off and on since 1995. I worked in the music business several years ago and primarily made custom guitar straps as a sideline. Haven't done much the last few years as a job change keeps me traveling quite a bit. Looking for inspiration to "jump start" the creative process, and to improve my skills.
