First Attempt At A Bag
moeg replied to moeg's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Hi Jazznow, sorry about the late reply, I was out on an 8 day fishing trip. Lots of fun. The way I use the paste is to put it on a cloth and rub in a circular manner, with no pausing anywhere. Rub a bit less wherever you want it to be darker, or add some more paste to that area. Hope this helps, Moe. -

Thanks for all the positive replies. Moe. -
Hi all, here are some pics of a bag I just finished today. I was going for the antique, slightly distressed look. It's made with 6-7 oz leather lined with 1.5 oz alligator print. The finish is Fiebing's med. brown antique paste. Moe.

Hi David, that is a great seat cover, wow. How do you get the lines to come out so dark, clean, and perfect?? Moe

Well done!! that looks like it should protect you. The white layer inside of the gauntlet is padding? is it closed cell foam? The red thumb straps are a nice touch too. Moe.

That is some fantastic work, everything from the color scheme to the way it's carried. Awesome. Moe -
Hi all, a friend gave me what looks like a leather jacket to take apart for small projects. The flesh side of the material has a mesh like material. Is this the way that garment leather is reinforced or am I the proud new owner of naugahyde junk pieces ? I've never worked with leather jackets and was hoping that this would work for making wallets and stuff. The bottom of the picture is the flesh side and the top is the grain side. Moe G.

Thanks Joet, I just downloaded his wildlife studies for the ram and kestrel. Lots of good info in there. Moe G.

Hi all, here is a carving that I did on some scrap leather before doing it on a piece that I have in mind. I would greatly appreciate a critique on this piece. The errors that I found on it are: hair on the body is too long and in the wrong direction halo effect on the background horn tip on the far side is too low area around nose needs hair too Thanks, Moe G
