The cobra is not stitched..just glued....I tried it before to see how strong the bond will be and it looks like the cobra won't go anywhere..lol....The only reason i choose brass is because of the brown in the belt...I always use brass on brown and Stainless on black...once in a while brass on black but never stainless on brown...However the buckle can be changed anytime because i used snaps. Thanks for the comment !!!

I actually got the cobra skin few days ago to use it as inlay for some of my dog collars...same day i was asked by a buddy of mine if i can make him a belt...something "exotic"..lol...so here it is...1.5in wide , cobra skin on a 9oz strap, antique brass buckle and belt keepers...I might actually substitute the brass belt keppers with a leather one... All comments would be apreciated..critiques are more then wellcome Thank you !!!

Holes For Buckle Prongs In Dog Collar?
buffalobill plus Ed D replied to Skald's topic in Other Specialties
There is another glue that you can get fromthe hardware stores...the only problem is the smell...you have to work in a very well ventilated area...when i use that glue i am actually outside. It's probablt the strongest i ever used. It's a multi purpuse type of glue...you have to look on the back and read the description -

Holes For Buckle Prongs In Dog Collar?
buffalobill plus Ed D replied to Skald's topic in Other Specialties
I have never had the problem that you are afraid of...if the 2 plys are properly cemented together they are not gonna split. But if you really want to make sure (it's gonna be more of an "overkill" though) you can do a stitch down the center of the collar in between the holes... -
A "little" collar i put together for a Cane Corso. The top part is 2in wide and the padding 2.5in wide.It was made out of 2ply of 8-9oz and the padding is a 3-4oz folded in...the whole thing is stitched with the Boss. Any feedback would be appreciated ! Thanks!

Anyone here familiar with this particular machine? I looked it up everywhere but i couldn't find anything on it.There is a gentleman here that has one up for sale but i want to do my homework before i make a move...lol...I am pretty much interested to know if the machine can actually work with thread over #277 and stitch 3/8in thickness(or even thicker) ? Thanks !

I 've been using the Boss for the last 7-8years now without any issues...i was actually gonna buy another one just as a back up just in case Tippmann weren't gonna make them anymore...lol...I used it few times just to make the holes and then hand stitch(like the collar pictured below) ...I think the machne it's briliant ... It's small , doesn't require electric power and you can carry it with you wherever you go...i actually made few collars on the spot at a dog show

I posted already some of my collars on a different topic( Leather Sewing Machines) on this forum ...here are some more of them...Everything is pretty much stitched with the Boss and most of the collars are made out of at least 2plys of 8-9oz leather Any kind of feedback willl be appreciated Thanks ! -
Recognize This?
buffalobill plus Ed D replied to buffalobill plus Ed D's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I believe those are called flop(ing) terrets..they are meant for horse harnesses...i got them from a horse hardware shop few hours away from me Thanks for the input on my machine..i was gonna start making some sholder (messenger) bags, bracelets...and few other things...and i thought this machine will come in handy .As i mention in my post i am using #138 with no issues (top and bottom)...i think i am gonna try the #207 first on top and if it works then i'll try top and bottom ..i am just gonna go very slow and stop right away if it struggles even just a bit. However, the #138 it enough for what i need Thanks again !!!! -
Recognize This?
buffalobill plus Ed D replied to buffalobill plus Ed D's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
...lol...so you noticed that !...it wasn't the first one..or the last one that i put the buckle on backwards and the buckle it's tha last thing that goes on that collar before all the stitching is done...imagine the frustration ...lol... Thanks for the comment ! -
Hello everybody !! ....even though i've been reading the forum for a while now, this is first time posting for me. I've been working with leather for about 8-9 years now but only making dog collars ( i will post few pics very soon). I made few knife sheets but nothing special. Everything that i made , pretty much, was stitched with a Tippmann Boss...some of my early stitching was done by hand.Because i needed somethin for lighter leather (few small projects that i couldn't use the Boss for ) I end up buying this machine few days ago..it did what i was interested in , so i didn't care too much about the manufacturer...brand name...original or copy and so on...Right now i am using it for stitching no more the 2-3 layers of 3-4oz and it work flawless..it has a #24 needle and works with the #138 thread and it has a foot lift of a bit over 3/8in..it has reverse...variable speed motor ...and that's pretty much everything i know about the machine. Is anybody here recognizing tis machine just by looking at the pics?...can anybody tell me more about it ? can i use heavier thread?..can i actually stitch any type of leather as long as it's under 3/8in thick? I know that another way of finding out some of the answers would be to actually to try the machine and find out it's limitations..lol...but i thought it would be much safer just to ask somebody that would already know So here are the pics ...and here are some of my dog collars....I was gonna post them under "Critique my work" because i am really interested in hearing an "educated opinion"...so don't hold back !!..lol.. Thanks in advance !!!
