Happy Birthday Rayban and chancey! Many happy returns.
-
Somebody tell Mother Nature I said "Uncle!" already.

The first snow of the season feels like an uninvited houseguest. It plops down right down into the middle of whatever you had planned, hogs your favorite chair in the backyard, makes demands on your time, and pokes into everything.
-
What a vivid image, and how much I am dreading that uninvited visitor.
-
Usually - I'd rather have snow than rain... Although it has been dry here for record days and WA has also had record fires burning - By Thursday, we will have had only 1 day with minimal measurable rain in 83 days... http://earthsky.org/earth/view-from-space-us-west-continues-to-burn

A fellow "Badger"! Nice to know if someone yells "Is there a beaver in the house", someone will holler "YES!"
Unless of course someone in the crowds starts singing the "frying pan" version of Back to Gillwell and derails things.

Made 12 pounds of fudge today and gave away most of it...and I'm too tired to want any to eat myself.
-
I have got to stop coming home so tired. I have no idea where I put my keys last night. : )

I'm sitting here with a kudu horn and I'm terrified to do anything to it! I better get over that soon--it has to be finished by February!

Hopefully make a calling horn for camps. It's a Boy Scout tradition that has fallen by the wayside in this district due to loss and damage of the horns. So, up pops a sucker--me.

Good luck ! I´ll listen for your call!
:D

I'm a bit grouchy about it because I just had it repaired! Apparently the parts were flawed. I just paid out the nose to get power steering pump, rack-and-pinion, and hoses replaced, had to take it back a week later because the new pump broke down, back again for rack-and-pinion today. He guarantees his work and the parts though. He's fed up with the parts and so is trying to find a non-imported supplier for new ones. He's mad as heck about the junk they foist off on mechanics...
-
But, the alternator and the cam sensor also went boom today, so the "little blue pill" as I call it had better start behaving soon!

I’m so sorry you are having troubles. It is never a good time for extra expenses – but especially right now… Don’t get my GMC comments wrong. I still have to spend money on stuff – like $800. on on friday… but it just for normal stuff… Ever think about getting something else to drive that has parts that are easier to get right?
-
It's a Ford, 'about the only thing around here thet they can get parts for fairly easily. I'd get another car, but it's still cheaper to keep replacing bits on this one than the car payments and extra insurance. At least when this is done, it'd have new cat converters, alternator, new battery, new power steering pump and rack-and-pinion, and the transmission is less than 5 years old.

Ok, the joke among painters is, if it doesn't move paint it, and if it does move, drip paint on it! After seeing all of the fantastic stuff here, and doing some thinking of my own, is the joke among leatherworkers similar? If it doesn't move, make a case for it, and if it does move, make a saddle/collar/belt for it?
-
I just eyeballed your site, and you do gorgeous work. The braiding and tooling blows my mind.
-
Ack! $1700 for a car repair. I think I'm gonna cry.

Ooh, ouch. That's not nice either. Too bad it couldn't have waited until a few months after you'd moved, huh?
-
I've shelled out about that in the past few months on my Saturn VUE...but I finally got the a/c fixed!

Is the heat killing machinery? I came home to a dead refrigerator-Guess I'm not too surprised since this model was last made some 35 years ago. Time to call the landlady.

End of Frontier Week. I saw some niiiice leather work this year. Wish I had more time to gawp at it.

I say "have known him" as I am lousy with pairing names/faces and then remembering them more than 2 years later. If you told me his name, I'd just give you a blank look (a "duh?" sort of thing), as it's been more than 2 years since I went to State (by more than a few years!).
-
I might have known him then. I lived along the Carbon/Sweetwater Co. Line, so a lot closer to Rawlins than Rock Springs, but I probably bumped into him a few times.

4H in Wyoming... Boy, that brings back memories. State Fair in Douglas was always a zoo.

Dang, couldn't reply on your profile page Southtexas. Hope ya see it here.
I expect they'll look similar to snake gaiters. I'd order 'em, but I'm kinda the back end of nowhere out here, and I'll be visiting next weekend, so it'd be quicker for me to make (or mostly make) them and take them with than it would be for UPS to ship gaiters to him--UPS is iffy ...

Shin guards for dad to protect his hide when he's cutting brush--this ought to be interesting...
-
What is he cutting with?

I don't know, I haven't seen the gadget yet. My brother said that it flipped a rock 20 ft and took out a window, so I'm thinking jeans might not stop a rock shard or a bit of cactus from taking a bite at that velocity. I have some 9oz latigo bison that I think will work, and I could even pad the underside. I just need Mom to trip him and measure knee cap to the top of the steel-toed boots for me!
