This sounds like a bad batch from W&C. I use their Bridle and haven't had anything remotely close to this happen.

Bought these earlier this year to audition before spending the $$$ on Vergez. Used the 10 teeth and 2 teeth for a small card holder and that's it. They're sharp and consistent, but I honestly prefer Japanese irons. I'm asking $30 shipped to CONUS (these took nearly a month to receive). Thanks for looking.

How Does Wicket & Craig Tooling Compare To Hermann Oak Tooling?
JanC replied to JanC's topic in All About Leather
Thanks for the tip on RJF. I'll see if I can get a sample from them... The Royal Meadow has been my favorite natural Ive worked with thus far but $$$ (not a Tandy member). -
I haven't had the chance to work with the W&C stuff but I do love their bridle. Hermann Oak is good, but pretty stiff. I'm hoping for more of a softer feel. How does W&C compare? Also, does anyone know of a natural veg tanned leather that compares to Tandy's Royal Meadow tooling sides? The grain is nice and tight and has a buttery feel. Thanks!

Does anyone have a good video or instruction on how to install a zipper? Would like to be able to do a zipper wallet like this (Google images) Do I buy zipper tape, pull, and ends? Cut the zipper tape to length and install? Not seeing very many DIYs on the topic... Thanks =)

Andrew-- Much appreciate your write-up! I'll give this a try when I've some free time. Fortunately, I've some nice chestnut Horween Cavalier that'd be perfect for a big like this

I haven't had time to do mock constructs but I believe my girlfriend may be buying the bag so I'll be able to get a first hand look.

Back to the top. Has anyone come up with solution to fabricate a tongue or find a supplier for either NATO or Zulu hardware? To the guy above, for an order of 100, would that be total or for each piece? i.e. 100 rings, 100 buckles or 100 total? Thanks

Hey guys. I'm about a week, and two visits to Tandy in to this craft and so far loving it! My initial intention was to build some watch straps but as I wait for my hardware to come in, figured I'd try other things. Here's my first completed piece. A pouch for my Samsung Galaxy S II with cardholder. I've only a single shoulder I picked up for cheap to learn on. I've only rubbed some beeswax on it and hoping to get a nice patina. Going for a nice minimalist appearance. I suppose, my only real question is how do you guys get curved cuts? Is there a tool that helps? I originally tried to cut a rounded opening, but had to cut that portion off because it was so bad. Anyhow, here it is: Any and all tips/feedback is appreciated. Cheers.
