Thanks, The cutout & the stamps are tools I got in Morroco. The rivets are nikel plated- so I burnd them on open fire to get the coppery color.

For my Bday I made a case using stamps I got recently in Morocco.

Madmax & smooth, I wet molded the shape ( according the pattern I made), let it dry, then painted it - first using a thin brush to draw lines in sort of a wood pattern, let that dry and going over the mask with the brown paint using a sponge, buffed it- and put super shene . Roo - my painting is nothing compare to your work... art- I wore a cape and armbands to complete the ouyfit Tom- I spent 2 years in africa, so I guss a few of my designs are effected from that T

OK, never thought of glueing the pieces - dont you have sort of a break in the leather? or you hibe it somehow? is contact cement as good as the leather weld for the splice? in the few projects I made, I used 30' of lace and it looked like a rag halfway through the lacing probably increased the time I spent lacing ... Hi all, got some tools I orderd from TLF, didn't go with projects yet , just took a scrap leather and started to get the feel of the tools, I copied Isis wings from a book cover and gave it a go, DO you have any pointers about making it smoother and give it a more flowing look? Hi all, I've been browsing alot here and was amazed at the stuff you guys and gulls make, I've been makin some BDSM stuff up till now - and I want to expand my working with leather, I don't have special leatherworking tools - I use a utility knife and a rotary punch and some woodworking tools, Hope to learn more , interested in braiding, carving, stitching and stamping. Here is a small project I made this weekend- a wine hanger - I also post it in the "critic my work" forum - so you can give me some pointers . (this all project is based on stuff I read about here) Jake.
