I have been trying to figure the whole copyright thing as well. A couple weeks ago this guy posts books that he made that is a direct replica of my book design (not the artwork) and has them posted for $200 (way more than I would have charged if I had just started). Then posts a picture of my book (with watermark) to show what people are paying for them. FYI my company it JT Laser- N-Leather. Does he have a right to copy my book design? He even admitted to copying it and sell it. Do I just have to live with it and compete with him for business?

I am looking for a v-gouge that will hold its edge, unlink tandys v-gouge. who makes a premium steel v gouge? tools like the ones you see on fineleatherworking and Rocky mountain leatherwork tools?

no one has any experirnce finishing edges of a pig skin lined items?

I have a project the I lined with pig skin, I did a test piece and the normal way I finish a project it with dye. the problem with pig skin is that sucks the dye up like a sponge. How do I finish this edge? with edge paint? do I try to burnish it?

I accidentally set a project down on a wool dauber soaked in neatsfoot oil. How do either get it out or help it spread evenly?

Thank you! I am charging 135 for this book, but this will be something i will reproduce so the computer work on this image is already done. Im still pondering on what to charge someone for a personal image work. This photo took hrs of photoshop work to get it to come out right.

I have a laser engraver and i want to make ink type stamps for rubber to imprint images onto the leather. I know that regular dye would be to thin, is there a way to thicken it up a little to help say on the stamp? Are there any other ink/dyes that are made for stamping onto leather? do any one have experience with ink type stamps and leather

In the most recent issue of Leather Crafters and Saddlers journal there is a tutorial on how to make leather flip flops. On page #12 step 20a they are dying the edges with a brown Bob Park edge Marker!!!! I want one, anyone know how to get one? Bob if you see this im sold!!! Take my money!!!

Thanks Tom! I bought some from tandy a while back in a pack of 10 and there still going strong, some of the eyes are bend but they don't snap completely like the ones I mentioned. I guess there trying to save money and are putting out cheaply made needles. I do use pliers. I probably get a little rough when I get a rhythm going and try to speed up.

I bought a pack of hand sewing needle from tandy...I bought them because it was a 200 ct (guessing) and I was at the store. I have already broken 3 at the bottom of the eyelet closest to the needle end on one note book cover. Does anyone know where I can buy quality SS needles (S30V.. joking)? And im using 1.0 mm Ritza,what size should I get? Does anyone have a chart for stitching needle and size thread? Any and every chart will do

I have a surface that when rounding the rivet leaves an impression on the head. Does anyone know of an anvil or surface that will leave unique impression on the rivet ? Pictures are before and after
