I received my 3200 the first week of December and I could not be happier with it. I sew holster backs with 277 top and 207 bottom and it works great. It took me some time to learn and have it fully adjusted but that is just because it was my first machine. Bob is great to work with and answered all my questions. It was well packaged and very easy to put together. I love the new stand and the motor is different form the older 3500 (very smooth start and speed control) For the price it fit the bill 100%.

I wanted to update my original post on JRM... All my metal clips have been from them. I had the one small oxide issue and they took care of it. The finish has been great on all other orders. I work with beth at Jrm and she is always responsive and helpful. I am going to try other powder coated option also but the blax oxide is great for the price.

I have had good experience with JRM. I deal directly with beth and every time my PayPal invoice has come right away. Good quality, good price, made in the USA. All my metal clips are from them.

Ok...I am confused as to what I need for setting 24 snaps and Pull the Dot Looking at the press n snap with bench mount. I only need to press the socket and cap as these will be for soft loops that will use a chicago post and screw on the stud side. Would the following be all I need: Press n snap tool with standard cap die and standard socket die for line 24 snaps Would I be able to just add a PTD socket die and use the standard cap die? For example: http://www.canvastraining.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=411 + http://www.canvastraining.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=418

Wicket And Craig English Bridle Vs Hermann Oak
GuardianConcealment replied to Harfang's topic in All About Leather
I am a new holster maker and I make hybrid style holsters (leather back and kydex faceplate) I have been using W&C 8 to 10 oz English Bridal (tan and Black) sides in standard grade My questions are: What difference have you guys seen between the Standard, utility and special grade? Is standard worth the extra cost? Have any of you had the W&C EB split before? I heard it can take a long time to get it if you order it that way. I have had a good bit of waste on each side due to rough flesh side areas that I do not want to send out as my backs are not lined. The flesh side on the W&C EB is amazing compared to Tandy and Zack White leather I have tried. My last question is are there any better types you would suggest for leather holster backs? Thank you for your help and advice, James- 20 replies

Punch For Multiple Holes

Not sure that would work...it needs to be 3/16 round punch, that looks like they are just for lacing. -
Punch For Multiple Holes
GuardianConcealment replied to GuardianConcealment's topic in Leather Tools
Thanks for the help guys...this aspect is new to me. I guess it is called a gang punch. I just purchased some threaded 3/16 tubes from weaver and plan to drill and tap som retangular metal stock. I will then put a small bolt or rod on the top and use my arbor press. My arbor press is drilled for dies so this will just be like another die. For the base I will use a polly board as the anvil side. I will post some pics once I get it built and tested. If there are any definite deal breakers you guys can think of with this ideal please let me know as it is an expreiment. -
Leatherburnishers.com ... Anyone Have Their Tools?
GuardianConcealment replied to RoosterShooter's topic in Leather Tools
http://leatherburnishers.com/ They are great -
I am looking for a source or DIY advice to punch 4 holes at one time for my holster clips. I am currently doing them one at a time with a hand punch tool. Thinking of making something that will work with a 1 ton arbor press. Maybe a piece of steel that has four threaded holes to accept replacement punch tips. Is there anything on the market that does this? Texas customs can make it but I would like to cut cost. What replacement tips are the best? Thanks

It took me a little over three weeks for both my first and second order. That was the discussed ETA. Well worth it. -
Leatherburnishers.com ... Anyone Have Their Tools?
GuardianConcealment replied to RoosterShooter's topic in Leather Tools
+1 for Leatherburnisher.com I just received my holster makers special burnisher from Beary and it is amazing. I had previously ordered a set of dremel burnisher from them but recently got a drill press. Both the dremel set and the holster makers special have great craftsmenship and do a great job on a well prepared edge. My method is to cut, touch up with sander if needed, bevel, and burnish. I have used many different methods (glycerin 50/50 with water, glycerin bar, aussie leather balm, bees wax, etc.) The price, and order process was great. Took a few weeks but that was worth it and Beary was up front about that. -
Thanks guys... I am looking for the ones with the actual belt catch...I don't see those on either site.

Mallet Dies - What Can They Do? Who Makes Them?
GuardianConcealment replied to simontuntelder's topic in Leather Tools
Just got my press back from a friend who welded it up for me... I will post some pics. I am so happy with the first Texas Die I received a couple weeks ago. Amazed by the quality, price, and edge. A+ for Texas Die, this will not be my last from them. -
+ 1 for Texas Custom Dies... I am amazed at the quality of my first die from them at a very fair price. It will not be my last. They were great to deal with from start to finish.

How To Modify A Shop Press Into A Clicker Press
GuardianConcealment replied to azrider's topic in How Do I Do That?
Sorry to hit on an old post... Just got a 20 ton hf shop press and was wondering if it being a little out of level on the bottom support is a big deal? I know you get what you pay for and all but the price was all I could afford. I have some half in cold rolled and will cut off the ram, weld to bottom and top, also add new spring bolts. My question is can it have some flex in the frame and still get a good cut? I will be using Texas custom dies Ankhs for your help -
Makers Mark / Hot Stamping
GuardianConcealment replied to GuardianConcealment's topic in How Do I Do That?
Cool... My friend used grey ghost for his Derlin stamp I am going to try it on dry eb I wrote one of the customers listed on that brand first site to ask about her brand as it looks nice. Looks like a cool option. Not sure how and electric brand would look on black leather. Thanks for your help
