I haven't done any leather work in ages and I thought I'd try a mask to jump back in. Excuse the fairly goofy picture, my kitchen is a lousy photo studio.

Thanks, guys!

Cool. Thanks for the information!

Medieval Joker Custom Leather Armor Completed

I don't suppose you could use an apprentice, eh? lol Fantastic work as always. -
These are really great. Nice and sharp. What tools did you use for the background and such if you don't mind me asking?

Just a little side project for fun. Came out kinda pretty.

These are really great. I love the look of the lacing.

Good to know. Thank you!

MojoGeorge: I'll see about getting some more pictures taken. Thornale: Thanks for the advice. This is my first attempt at something like this so I appreciate your help. How much bigger do you suppose it should be?

There were a lot of "firsts" in this demi-gauntlet. First "construction" of two separate pieces, first use of chicago screws (which work much better than your average rivet), and first use of black and red dyes. I plan on adding proper straps to the hand and thumb but this is where we stand so far.

Thank you!

I stuck this in the gallery a ways back but never posted it for thoughts and reviews. Today...we fix that! So...whatchathink?

I too know the pain of a late night d4 to the foot. Curse the d4! That said, this is a cool idea. Very clean work.

Definitely! Thanks for your suggestions and the link. That helps a ton.

Hello all. At heart, I am a huge geek. And thus, I play a good amount of Dungeons and Dragons. I had an idea today to create a three-ring binder for my D&D stuff based on the Red Book of Westmarch from the Lord of the Rings. That said, I'm a little confused on how to do it. I've read some tutorials but for whatever reason the specifics are escaping my noobie-leatherworker head. Essentially, it would be a slightly floppy leather bound folder that would hold plastic sheets in a three ring binder. But I'm not sure of the best way to construct it (what leather thickness, how to attach the three ring clip bit, etc.) If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm new to this and the construction aspect is still taking some time to wrap my head around. Thank you!!

Thank you! I enjoy making the flasks (except for the stitching. Stitching is not my friend.)

Celtic/Barbarian Bracers: These were my first real attempt at carving, tooling, stamping, riveting, and...um...spiking. I think they turned out pretty well for a beginner's try.I learned a lot during the process. Leather Flask #2: This is my 2nd leather flask design.

I'm extremely new to leatherworking but I've falling in love with all the of masks I've seen on this site so I thought I'd give one a try. I'd be great to hear what everyone thinks!

Thank you, sir! I broke down and ordered a majority of my tools today. Time to start constructing my patterns and getting to work!

Thanks but those aren't my projects! Just examples of finishes and stains that I like but I'm unsure of how to create.

Today I took my first step into the great insanity that is leatherworking!

Welcome. Donuts are to your left, caffeine is to the right, and the padded rec-room is down the hall.
