Those are good points, straps are stitched in place, the first time I saw the guy on youtube demonstrate the holster I said yeah right, but I said let me try it and see.the holster works well for small guns.your right about the bursa,if you got some scrap leather try it,that's what I did,the first one was made of horse. -
New Slim Holster

Thanks for the feedback, other forum members felt that the gun sits to high and should be lower in the holster, but you can easily grip the gun with this position that's why I made this style.the holster hides well. The style only works on small guns. I see what you mean though , next time i'll angle the gun forward a bit. -
this is slim holster for bursa 380, this is a improvement over the first one, the straps are stitched in place so as not to move, gun fits nice and tight thanks to the feedback from members on this forum.

this belt is antique medium brown, finished with bick 4 from springfield leather. this stuff works good for me after applying antique stain let belt set up over night than apply the bick 4 , let it dry and rub off. Belts that I have made over a year still look good. I use other stuff but this is easy and hold ups well.

Thanks for all the advice,as you can see I'm new at this but I love it, I saw this guy on youtube talk about this holster,so I thought I try it.I'm going to make some changes and post new one soon.I read a post where red cent talked about tnuts with 6/32 screws for snaps, I'm going to try that

You both are right I have to bring stitch in to trigger guard and the straps are sewed and have two eyelets holding strap in place.even though gun sets high the gun is secure and doesn't bother your body.I saw the guy on youtube demonstrate the holster. You would be surprised how secure the gun is and you can draw gun without telegrahing your draw

I'm in the process of making that style holster for a friend, the gun is a 380 bursa I'll post the pictures

yeah your right about the stitching , this was a test holster but I like it so I finished stitching it and here is the back. the holster holds the gun really nice and when I wet formed it I pushed the gun to far in the holster causing the barrel to stick out a little but the sight is still back. here is the back side of that holster

I got this design from a guy on youtube, I made this test holster and as you can see its not done but I like it so much that I'm going finish sewing it and use it. the gun is secure and really concealable and doesn't interfere with the body.the back has two straps with snaps held by eyelets sorry for not showing the back

Snake Skin Belt
mike6642 replied to mike6642's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
here is the knife sheath that goes with that belt, thin horse hide cut out and two pieces of 8 oz leather hand stitched what you don't see and I'll try and find a picture is on the back there is two horizontal straps for shoulder carry and on those two straps are a vertical strap that allows you to carry knife low. You can take that strap off and carry belt high. -

I made a knife sheath that matches the belt -
Trust me easy to use, light enough to turn when needing to look at the back of your work.the whole setup works well.the height is perfect for me. I got tired of trying to use the pony with no base.

Snake Skin Belt
mike6642 replied to mike6642's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Belt went together nice with two pieces the poly spray does a nice job. Thanks for the reply I really appreciate that.I probably made seven or eight belts. -
I just finished this belt , bought snake skin from ebay , had a belt cut to 4 oz. at springfield leather , and cut out pattern then laid it over 8 oz belt. I traced the pattern then put clear polyester resin from home depot on skin for protection. Glued skin on belt than stitched the two pieces together. the other belt was a copy from another member that he posted, I hope he don't mind, I would give him credit but I can't remember who it was but he will know if he sees the belt.

Hand Sewing With Batting Gloves
mike6642 replied to mike6642's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I am going to make me a pair of those, nice idea thanks for the pictures -
I dont sit on that stool i sit on a bar stool and put feet on stool i use the stool as a base for stitching horse . Your right that would be to close if you try to sit on it. Its pretty stable the stool is heavy enough .

I found that hand sewing belts that my fingers and hands bothered me, so I put on my batting gloves and I could pull the thread through and tighten the stitch with ease, and after making holes with awl I could pull needles through the 8 oz. leather with no problem , the wax from the thread got on the gloves giving you a great grip making the needles easy to handle. the gloves are made to fit so as to be able to pick up needles easily. no more sore hands. put leather in stitching pony run awl through 4 inches of leather and have at it, you will be surprised.

Thanks I'm putting a 1"by4" on button rung for a foot rest. Fast to make and real sturdy and cheap.
