Is there a secret to dying with black. I make a lot of dog collars an leashes and when using black, it always bleeds. Any other color is ok but, black, not so good. What am I doing wrong ?

These rivets are much smaller than 14 guage

I met a lady yesterday to make her a dog leash and I noticed the small medallions, they were attached to her dogs collar with very small copper rivets, the base/head was the size of a small piece of pea gravel. I was thinking they were used in jewery making but, cant find any. does anyone know where I could find some that small ?

It's a mystery alright. I know how to do the three strand and the five strand mystery braid but, the one in the picture is neither one of them. Hmmm! I'm stumped
