  1. This is the foam I use. I get the 1 inch thick stuff in the 1/4 sheet = 6 squares about 11 1/2" square. for like 3 bucks they will cut it into 6 squares for you... Stuff lasts a long time. I use 2 pieces on each side of the holster. http://foamforyou.com/neoprene.htm#Neoprene High Quality
  2. I use a couple of pieces of plywood with some 1 inch neoprene foam in the above harbor freight 12 ton press.

  4. Yep Paul, $40-$50 from PA to AZ plus a $.35/per ft. surcharge that they say took effect May 1,2013.
  5. I have seen products like Mitch Rosen's Leather lightning and some others. Is there a good way to slick down the inside of a holster, using normally available products, without causing breakdown or loss of retention?
  6. Very nice indeed! I would love to see a photo of the back side.
  7. Tandy has become the "walmart" of the leather world. You certainly don't go to walmart to buy anything of quality... Seems to be the same with tandy also.
  8. Thanks for the reply... We have 2 Tandy's here... The manager of one was telling me today that he was ashamed of the quality of leather that they have been getting lately... He told me "Honestly, we don't have anything that you want here." ... I was simply looking for a decent 7-8 oz tooling hide for my holsters... Pathetic. Any idea what Springfield charges for shipping on a hide??? ... I asked Wickett & Craig they told me $40-50 a hide (tooling hide)... Seems a little much to me... But I did get a nice sample set in the mail today... If that whole hide was the same sweetness as that sample, I could deal with the shipping charges....
  9. The Springfield website says they can cut off the neck and belly. Do they still charge for that leather or what? If not, why pay for it?
  10. I have no affiliation with them, Just passing on this info... I just ordered one for myself.
  11. I have played with photography most of my life... Even took many college photography classes. I can tell you "Product" photography has to be one of the most difficult things to master... I suck at it... Black gloss surfaces on a white background are the DEVIL!
  12. Thanks Trox, for the info on "bottom feed"... I did not know that...That won't work at all then I do quite a few ambidextrous holsters and messing up a back side even on a one handed holster is unacceptable... Good info here!
  13. Looks like you've got those down... Great work Josh!... Where did you get your makers mark? Very clean stamp.
  14. I currently sew by hand doing mostly holsters and such...But it's getting old. Would this machine work well for this and who are the American dealers for these? Also any reviews would be great too. Thanks.
  15. That is very sweet indeed! Beautiful!,,, What is the "M&G"?
  16. Nice bench! Might try to copy that one. But I'd really like to hear about that sewing machine!!!!
