wow winterbear, you sound like the csi of leatherwork. anyway the finish side is matt finish, not colored rigidity is somewhere in between. very easy to mold but softens up . on the rough side it's darker. Iill try and download a picture/s. tomorrow. thanks for responding

had purchase a bunch of scrapleather from a local craft store. I'm trying to identify it. maybe someone might know thw answer. it isn't too rigid, creases easily, and when I drill holes in it with my drill press the edge of the material kinda separates. thanks

Hello all, new to leathercrafting. want to know if you can dye/color with two different colors. I'm making a cell phone case and want the main body of case to be a lighter shade of brown, but want the border where the stitching is to be black. is this possible? also if I put a stamp design on it how can I make the imprint more distinguishable> thanks

thanks, but the case isn't finish yet. I just molded the front piece. but when I looked at it, it wasn't symetrical. this will be my first leather project. so I will have alot of learning to do.

Hello all, newbie here. molded a case out of leather and now noticed that it's a little uneven. can I unmold it and reshape it? or am I better off starting with a new piece? the piece is already dry. thanks

Hello all, decided to try my hand at leathercrafting because I couldn't find a cellphone case that I liked. anyway purchased a bunch of leather scraps from the local craft store. different colors and stiffness. my question is how can you tell what type of leather it is, and how do you determine the right leather for a project? thanks.
