The rivet has no tapering and impossible to set the burr. Trying to set the burr bends the rivet. I also tried the copper burr on the brass rivet, with no success.
Disappointed!

Do I glue down the entire area of suede?

My first thought on this is that some poor leather worker just had his tools stolen in a burglary and the typical crack/meth head was trying to get their fix selling scrap metal. Hope that wasn't the case because I would hate to have my tools stolen and end up at the scrap yard. Maybe it was a legit sale in which case you have a heck of a nice set of tools. Legally I would be careful of the too good to be true deals. At least here in Florida if you knew or should have known that the property was stolen (i.e. WAY to cheap) you can be charged with dealing in stolen property.
Exactly what I was thinking.

The method used on that strap is really just a Blood Knot - commonly seen in saddlery
Thanks! Knowing what it is called helps to search.

I want to make journal covers and small simple wallets using high end leather.
I need 4-5oz, pre-dyed and something on the firm side. I don't want floppy leather. English Bridle Double Shoulder?
Suggestions would be much appreciated! -

Unfortunately, I believe Tandy is drowning and trying to grab anything to stay afloat.
Edit: I have definitely noticed the negative difference in the personalities of the store employees.

Nice! I'll have to pick one up. It wouldn't be difficult to make it into an elephant.

Do you have any tips for getting acceptable results with Fiebing's Pro Oil Dye in Royal Blue? Everything I do ends up so dark. My last attempt was a 50/50 dilution and not only was it still dark, it didn't penetrate well.

The products on their website look of the highest quality. The only issues are the price of shipping to the U.S. and the £ 100 ($168.20) minimum order.
I can't find anywhere in the U.S. that make Half-Check Chains of this quality.

Thanks!
Lightingale... you do excellent work. I am very impressed!

What is the bezel called for setting Swarovski crystal? The mount that has prongs like a spot?
Also, any recommendations on suppliers for Swarovski, etc.?
