  1. lol pantera ! fantastic i will look out for joe bonamassa and tom t hall, i have always been a bit of a bowie fan, and the hero's album has seen the light of day lately, i would like to get into some classical ,but thats a hard one to find a starting point from. thanks for the replies so far, most interesting
  2. hi pounder, you should definately try some julie london and shawn mullins if you like soft and mellow, julie london sang cry me a river, one of my all time favourites ;-) im also a big bowie fan, but only some of his works are fit for purpose when im crafting lol ;-)
  3. hi everyone, just for grins i thought it would fun to see what everyone listens to (if anything) while your working on your projects? just recently i have been listening to : shawn mullins (souls core) julie london (julie is her name) with a little janes addiction thrown in for good measure, however i do find the first two a bit more focusing, and sometimes i find just instrumental music very settling :-)
  4. thank you :-)
  5. hi everyone, ive been making these bags for the ladies of my family the thing is, i cant seem to get the length of the gusset right, it started out too long, then i got it right, cut the same length for the next bag and it was an inch too short, is there a calculation to get them right? thanks ;-)
  6. hi everyone, i made these this week, i used 2-3mm veg tan, the thing is they dont seems to pop from the surface,if you get my drift, im still using the beveller from the tandy kit i bought a while back, would it help with a different tool? ;-)
  7. hi everone, thanks for all the replies, its exacly the responces i needed, god forbid i had made something that could injure some one ,not good. methinks the fetish wear would be more down my street as it were......ummm i think i need to rephrase that lolol ;-) regarding mr churchill , its a picture that has followed me from the gaming world, but does slightly reflect my take on life ;-) many thanks again ;-)
  8. hi ;-) a few things i would recommend, decent leather, if you havent tried them, try theidentitystore.com i never have any trouble carving on their leather, i always had trouble with the standard swivel knife blade so i tried one of the angled ones which made a huge difference to my control of the blade, especially with tight bends and curves etc. and dont try anything too complex to start, keep them simple, this was the first carve i did that i new i had the hang of it and this is what i juat finished this evening and lastly yes.it is all to do with practice, one other thing, try using a pen instead of a stylus, you can see where your tracing amd what you might have missed before you remove the paper to look, most of all keep at it,you couldnt find a better way to waste time lolol ;-) good luck
  9. hi everyone, ive been asked by a few people to do some bridle repairs, this is new to me but im very keen to give it a go, my question is this, do i need a special type of leather or can i use veg tan? and if anyone does already do this work, how do i price it? or should i say what do you charge ;-) one other thing, im seriously thinking of moving into leather working as a profession ,going self employed and working from home, however, im not entirely convinced i could make a living from it, does anyone actually live off of leather working or should it only be as a hobby? i live in the uk one last question, does anyone make fetish wear? ;-) thanks people ;-)
  10. hi everyone, can anyone tell me where i can get one of these in the uk? i found this one on ebay, but its from the states and the postage is pretty high. if any one can recommend somewhere i would be grateful. thanks ;-)
