  1. Sorry MOA, it's already gone, I only had one to give away....but thanks so much for your kind words>
  2. I'll second that....watched his (Particle) vid last night over a glass of wine.......tasty!!
  3. Nope, that envelope thing was never mentioned during our transaction.
  4. The procedure: http://www.jrmclips.com/contact-us.html Pick out what you want from the site. Call, get price. Send PayPal payment. No min order requirement, my total with shipping came to $13
  5. I just discovered that I have two of these books, so I'm willing to part with one. 32 pages of Uncle Al's holster goodness (mostly western style). Something every holster maker should have.... "The book of pattern making and holster construction" So the first New Holster Maker ( you can't already have this book) to say, "I'll take it and Rayban you're the coolest guy on this forum, I don't care what the others say" ...get's it...
  6. Nice...but I'm wondering why you chose to anchor the belt loop with that strap instead of stitching it to the holster. Fashion statement??
  7. Come on down to Temperance, I'll whip one up for ya while we have a beer....plus, you'll learn how to make em.
  8. Thanks guys, I'll give your methods a try... Hey Wiz, anyone ever tell you you look like Joe Namath??
  9. I worked something out by right clicking on the thumb nail, then click on "open link in new window", and now able so see the image enlarged. A little more clicking but I guess I can live with it.
  10. I use Mozilla...I have gone into "tools" and allowed pop-ups on this website, but still does not work. Works fine on every other forum I frequent.
  11. Thanks Dwight...I meant Dwight not Dwayne, it was early......I'm gonna give r a try.
  12. I know this is one of those, line-12-guys-up-and-ask-them-the-same-questions-and-you'll-get-12-different-answers type questions, but I'm asking for it. I posted something similar on another thread but I wanted to make sure you holster/sheath makers saw it. After about 5 years of paying $20 for an 8oz. bottle (plus postage) of a finish I really have liked, I thought I would see what my local retailer had to offer. I brought home a 4oz. bottle of Feibings Resoline, Tan Kote, and Leather Balm. I did this test strip...same dye, then cut the strip and applied finish...kinda cute how I end up with 3 shades of the same dye...but I can live with that. I applied each finish the same way, straight out of the bottle with a damp sponge....which leads to my question. Is this the correct way to apply each? I'm favoring the Balm as we speak..... I like how it buffed out when it was dry, but I could live with any of the three. The Tan Kote left the truer color. Dwayne....are you there?? Come in Dwayne.......this one is directed to you....you mention in a recent post that you use 50/50 Resoline and wondered about that since it seems to be pretty runny straight out of the bottle....but what don't I know? So I'd like to hear back about which of these three products you all favor, why, and how you apply them if your method is different than I have done. Thanks, and Happy New Year! Lft to rt.....Res, Tan Kote, Leather Balm.
  13. When I click on the thumbnail pictures in posts, they will not enlarge for me.....please help. Thanks, Rg
  14. After about 5 years of paying $20 plus shipping for 8oz of my favorite leather finish, I thought I would look into what my local retail outlet had to offer. I bought a 4oz. bottle of three of the Feibings products available there, and must say I was pleased with all three. I can see I need practice and experience with my application methods, so I'd like to hear what you all do in applying these three. From left to rt. Resolene, Tan Kote, Leather Balm/ Atom wax. I used a damp sponge for each. Resolene and Tan Kote left more streaking than Balm, but that will improve with experience I'm sure. I can live with either or. Note: I dyed a strap of leather, then cut it into 3 pieces to finish....notice three different shades of the same dye.
  15. Why not use a strip of 5-6oz between the two layers you're planning on using. That should give you all the support one will ever need for normal gun carry. You won't live long enough to see any break-down on such a belt.
  16. Dink, you have offered clicking services, correct? Do you have any rosettes dies? I would like to find someone to send some scraps of leather to, and have them stamp out some 1" rosettes. How many? I'm thinking filling up a small flat rate box of scrap leather.

Please let me know if this is something you do.

    Thanks,

    Rick

  17. I've seen duty belts advertised with a strip of Kydex sandwished between the two layers of leather.
  18. Maybe this will help: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5696
  19. I know nothing bout airsoft pistols, do they come in all models? Are they pricey? I wet mold by hand.
  20. Good question....I don't know but someone who asked me to make them one insisted in this design over the pancake. Claimed it snuggled up closer to him than a pancake. I just do what I'm told:blahblahblah:
  21. Just got my order in from these guys, the clips are great and for only a fraction of the cost as I had been paying for them.
  22. Hey Marine, Sounds to me like what you are describing is the concept behind these Tucker holsters. http://tuckerholsters.com/proddetail.php?prod=Lined-HF-1
  23. Oh contrare....... I just ordered 10 of one clip, 10 of another, and 2 (two) thumb breaks....no problemo. I'm not sure thumb breaks are good for a field/range/hiking kind of gun, so I just want to try one out to see how it turns out for me. You'll pay a few pennies more ea....and I do mean pennies.....for a small order like mine....my order including shipping came to about $13. Order by phone.
  24. So you don't want on the list, right Lobo??
  25. Check these guys out for metal thumb breaks (and belt clips)....very economical. http://www.jrmclips.com/
