  1. Clay, I agree with everybody on the black. You might try the Fiebings Black Antique acrylic leather stain just for yuks and giggles on a separate piece to see the effect first. Just a thought. JKK
  2. I am trying locate a source for Bill Woodruff hand tools. I saw some this weekend in Cimarron and they rival Barry King, Gore and Gomph-Hackbarth in quality. Does anyone know if he is still making them? Last information I had was a loction in or near Sedona, AZ. Indy Johanna-please let this stay in conversation and delete the Suppliers. JKK

  4. Marion, Come to our guild meeting on the 13th of Nov. 7PM @ Hide Crafter Leather Co. It's always the 2nd Tues of the month. We share a lot of ideas and you can use the class room on Sat. fro 9:30 to Noon to work on developing your talent in leathercraft. John K
  5. Kev, Next time you have a old piece of leather you want to lace try using Lexolâ„¢ conditioner and/or Leather Balm with Atom Wax on the area being laced and pull the lace through a rag with some on it. I use it (LB w/ AW) when I lace and it makes the lacing go more smoothly (less swearin'). Tricks learned over the years. John K
  6. Thanks to everyone :flame: . great info. I spoke with George Hurst today and he recommended the Paasche brushes but was open on the compresser. He lives in an apartment so semi-quiet is important, not silent. Glad to see several of you at the IFoLG this year. Got faces with e-mail names now. Hope to see and meet more in Columbus and Indy. That was my stompin' grounds for 53 years. Keep showin' your projects. I learn a lot from them. I'll be doing more and post some fro critique later. Indy transplant to TX JKK
  7. We are looking for a good, small quiet compressor and air brush with a reasonable price. One of my boys is a commercial graphic artist and we need to get him one for Christmas. He has the air brushes. I need one for my shop also. I don't need the compressor since I have a 33 Gal. tank that runs my clicker press. Any help would be appreciated. 8. freak, Looks pretty good. I'm jealous of people with natural talent in drawing and carving. See you in Fort Worth? Hope you're entering something in the competition. JKK
  9. Nice work Randy! I thought you were going to say that the sharkskin was from a pool of defense lawyers carefully tanned . I'm not much on Glocks except in extreme conditions but my last issue was a Glock that I qualified with, cleaned and returned to its "Tupperware" box then used my Sig or Beretta. Your Glock looks good in that holster and belt. As for exotic leathers-wow....good idea. I found a good resource at Hidecrafter Leather in Fort Worth. Ask Ron to check with his supplier Dermatan Exotic Leathers. They have had some really beautiful sting ray skins lately-pricey but pretty. It's a good resource and they are making a comeback under new ownership. Happy crafting and stay safe. JKK
