  1. What's with all the "PM's" ??? Nobody else reading this topic can get any help (now or in the future) by refusing to answer the OP's questions in public, which is the very life blood of a forum. It's this very function that makes a forum invaluable over time, a database that is constantly enriched over time and hopefully preserved for posterity. ...I then noticed another member had the same question and the response was again, "PM sent". WTF I just don't get it, so I feel compelled to post this question and hopefully make others aware of this bad form. Sorry for the rant, but I was trying to use the SEARCH function and this thread was at the top of my inquiry.
  2. Congrats on the successful website!

    ..been a long time.

    Keep up the great work.

    Peace.

  3. That's a great looking holster. Tempted to order one! I gotta question/s, do you use the customer's pistol when you're boning the leather or do you fabricate/buy? some kinda plug? How does your fit/retention hold up over time? Any pointers on getting a tight fit and correctly sizing the leather? Do you add any metal? Thanks, BM
  4. That was a most enjoyable read and I feel obliged to post just to say thanks. Joining this forum has been quite the pleasant surprise. Thanks again for sharing. BM
  5. Johanna, the smileys were definitely visible to non-members before your recent server fiasco. It's one thing to force login/registration to view pics, but I wouldn't think you'd want the broken smiley links visible to the general public. Not familiar with this Mocha/IP.board software you're using but surely there's a setting. If not, good luck scouring the code to fix the pointers! :killcomp: BM Back on topic... Since I left off on a beer themed post last night, I thought I'd post one of my favorite 'real' beer adverts. Budweiser dominates the US market for killer/classic commercials, but in Europe, Guinness is the tour de force. Here's to you Ahab! For those unfamiliar with Guinness, you have to wait for the head to settle before a pint can be topped-off and served, thus the marketing campaign emphasizing "waiting". Bloody brilliant, but decisively European. GO COLTS ! ! BM
  6. Johanna, When you log out the links break. Logged in they're fine. Using Firefox, checked IE and Opera, same thing. BM
  7. P.S. Attention Kate/Johanna/Admin...apparently the smiley links are broken. :/ I'm sure it's on your list chop, chop :-P BM
  8. If you liked Jake Shimabukuro, then Erik Mongrain should really tickle your fancy. and his latest composition... Peace, BM
  9. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in my experience once aniline leather has been soiled or stained it is nearly impossible to restore the original color, especially light colors. It sounds like the product you used has an oil base that has darkened the leather. Very common with many "conditioners". For many years I've used Connolly Hide Care on all my leather car interiors because it was recommended by the dealers. Connolly makes a very good CLEANER you might want to try. If not Connolly, I'd use BICKMORE. Bickmore products are nearly all that I use anymore, whether vehicle, boots, holsters or tack. Anything leather gets Bickmore! Though I haven't used their cleaner, friends who are in the know have said it's very good. I really like the Bick-4 conditioner because it will NOT darken light color leather. Best of luck, BM
