another good place to get stiffeners/pattern material is comic book shops on wednesdays (shipment day). get the cardboard type stuff used as dividers and top protectors in the shipment boxes. shops throw those out (along with the boxes if you need boxes for shipping or storage). I usually just use posterboard for my patterns though. comic shops also have plastic title dividers for sale. those make great stiffeners since they're very durable.

sounds like you forgot to add a seam allowance. I've done that when I've been in a hurry/working too late/working too long/ not focusing.

thought maybe I should go ahead and post something about me here since I've already posted up in other areas. *L* I've been doing BDSM type leatherwork professionally for about 13 years (people like Gen from the Genitorturers and fetish model Darenzia have some of me work, among others). I'm completely self taught so I don't know a lot of leather jargon. I'm a workaholic so I'd rather sit in me workshop making goodies than do just about anything else. I've recently started branching out because there's all kinds of things I want to make and I rarely make anything for meself (after 13 years I only recently made anything for me that wasn't work related. sad, isn't it? *L*). the .22 comment answered the question I was gonna ask. must be a ruger bearcat in it. original one? the one I have had a holster and a belt with cartridge loops in it. the belt's long gone now. anyway, I think it looks fine. nice and weathered and broken in. only thing I would've done differently is either stitch all the way across the bottom or left a larger opening. now then, get to work on the belt!

made using 7-8 oz leather with a suede lining and has an extra layer of 7-8 oz leather along the spine for spread support. punisher skull made using a dremel. it has a 30 degree cant and made for a leftie (we're the only ones in our right minds, ya know!) not completely happy with it though so I'll do another one tomorrow before work.
