Thank you. How to get into the tight spot? A steady hand, small drill bits and a dramel with a cutting disc. singteck

My maker's mark was made a long time ago. Did it myself so it's very special to me. Now a customer wanted a snake logo on his pouch to I went and make that one too. This one is more complicated. I first cut the snake out from a piece of 1/8" mild steel and then blazed that to another piece of 1/8" steel plate. Just need a handle now. singteck
  3. I tried it once Just use a mulefoot tool to do the scale and then colour it. That was taught to me by Sandy. singteck
  4. Welcome! It's not essential and you can certainly use a round awl but the stitch will not lay as nice and so the whole stitch job will not look as nice. If you can, get the diamond awl and learn to use it. Cheers singteck
  5. Go ahead Reid. I probably "copied" it from someone else singteck
  6. There are two magnets in there. One magnet and one steel sounds like a good idea..... cheap too. It's not from Tandy. Got it from a local supplier. Cheers singteck
  7. If the leather is thin, then don't use too much dye, it will bleed through. I find that using airbrush for such an application is the best solution. Even coverage with no bleeding. singteck
  8. Another vote for acrylic paint. Depending on the colour of the jacket, and the final colour of the skull, a white base coat would help. Don't need any sealer but if you must, a clear acrylic would be the choice. Make sure you clean the surface first of oil. singteck
  9. Black can be used to cover anything up. The question is...... is there a sealer on the old dye? If not then it's not only possible, it's easy. singteck
  10. Fold the edge of the skin under, that should give a nice edge. singteck
  11. Who ever that "hand-stitched" those should be fired. The stitching sure looks uneven and ugly. Or did they mean someone hand guided the leather through the sewing machine... so it's hand stitched? singteck
  12. Wet the leather first just before dyeing helps. singteck
  13. Got tired of the metal bracelet so I changed it to leather. Black calf leather and yellow stitching to suit the face and hand colour. Cheers singteck
  14. Just finish this one. The leather is chrome tanned maroon and black with red stitchings. I did not use a stiffener on this one. Wanted to try it without to see if it's better. Thank you for looking. singteck
  15. Thank you. The texture comes with the leather. I didn't do anything. Cheers singteck
  16. Thank you Howard Here a simplier version that takes only 10 mins to make. singteck
  17. Thank you! The magnets works great. There's no stress on the magnets and they adjust to the thickness of the content unlike press studs. The black leather is calf leather and the yellow is called lining leather. Both chrome tanned. Cheers singteck
  18. A pouch for your keys :D Made this one to try out the new hardware I've bought and also the two part rivets. Works really well. First time I am using steel hardware in my leather product. Given the choice, I would still prefer brass but they don't make these things in brass or at least, I have not found them yet. Used rare earth magnets again on this one because I don't have nickel plated press studs. At least now it can be used as a fridge magnet :D singteck
  19. Thank you! I used an Aztec double action. Can't remember what's the model number thought. It's one of those with a plastic body and interchangeable nozzle. singteck
  20. Thank you Sharpshooter! I do have a version which does not cover the poll. What do you think? I have another one which I did long time ago. singteck
  21. Thank you for the replys. Looks like it's a dying trade if none of us here uses it!! Cheers singteck
  22. I can't link to the movie directly. This is the closes I can get you to. http://lesailes.hermes.com/gb/en/ singteck
