  1. Compared to my work, it is perfect! I would proud to have this bag and can easily see it on my motorcycle tank as a focus point. It really is beautiful work!
  2. Does any one have any information where I can find replacement handles for my 3lb Al Stohlman maul. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Do you have a pattern for the lighter holster & is it something you can share with me? They look cool and I thought it would be something to have for a small project.
  4. Hello all I just received word from the Painting Cow that their new June 2008 newletter has just be placed on the website and they asked for us to pass the word. Here you go http://paintingcow.com/Online-tutorial-june-2008.pdf

When I introduced myself, I promised the forum to come back and post some of my work. Though not professional, I am sure proud of each one. Some of the information I received here and other places have gone into my work.
  6. No it was suppose to be Carving. Thanks for the correction and will show them off. I am down to the "Carving" now. everything else has been cut and in a holding pattern.
  7. I am a member of the Longhorn Trail Leather Guild here in Austin. We meet the second Tuesday of each month and the monthly dues are $15 a year. We have our regular meeting and they a show and tell session. We discuss just about anything leather or working with it. We also have a project that we work on before ending our meeting. We have crafters come from as far as Milano. Side note: Our own member contributed to the lastest project in the Tandy Leather Skiver this month, Dennis Guerra. If you could make it, we would love to have you or help you. Good luck in your search. ATX
  8. Sorry, power went down and so did my router. As I was saying, I making a set of 1/2 chaps with some craved leather. I really like the "Sheridan Skulls" idea and I want to try and incorporate them into the craving. I am going to filigree (sp?) the craving with one of the main colors off my motorcycle. Any comments, gripes, moans or groans will all be accepted. Ideas as well! Thanks. ATX
  9. Okay, so I have been considering making a set of 1/2
  10. WOW As a new member, I am amazed at the work of the entire crew. I appreciate the opportunity to join such a wonderful area to share our craft even if we some of us (like me) are beginners. I recently passed on this URL to my local leather guild (Longhorn Trail Leather Guild). Keep it up!!
  11. Very nice for your first seat. The spokes really stand out.
  12. Very Cool! Where did you find the skulls at? "Sheridan skulls....I like that name." Please let us see what it looks like completed. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Whinewine & Beeza I appreciate the response. Your comments about being screwed is what I am afraid of. I didn't think about wetting and forming the top. As for the alligator, it is going on the side and no real bending will be required. I may look around here for a seat maker to see if they can do it. Thanks for the help and comments. ATX
  14. Ian....I appreciate the quick response, but no I do not own that type of machine. All the leather work that I do is done by hand to include the sewing. thanks.
  15. My best friend has an 07 harley with a badlander seat that his wife wants me to recover in two types of leather for his upcoming birthday. She had the leather and one of her selections is alligator. I know that this leather was expensive, so I am really hesitant on taking the job, but I do not want to let him or her down. Is there seat guru's that have experience recovering a "badlander" seat that can help. She wants it to carry on the same design and pieces that are on the seat now. The top will be plain black leather and the side panels are going to have the alligator leather. She is not looking for any lacing (which I don't know how to do anyways), just reguarly stitching. The deadline is June 13th. If any seat guru can help, I would appreciate it! Appreciate any help in advance....thanks.

Hello all I join your forum recently after lurking the internet for leather patterns. I have been looking around the forum and I have to say what a wealth of information. I recently retired from California and relocated to Austin, TX. I am new to stamping and carving and taking weekend classes at my local Tandy shop. I will post some items as soon as I can get one of my 5 cameras working again. I am willing to try any project, but usually keep myself to one try. I appreciate the access to your information and hope to tap into your knowledge base in the future. Have a great evening! ATX
