    Maker stamps

    I just received mine from Phillips Engraving (website is their name plus dot com). It came out really nice, the cost was $35. Since this a hobby for me, the price was right. Thanks for the thread! Greetings from Round Rock, Texas {Remember: Stop & Strop !}
  9. Mrs. J~ Just wondering if LW could a button or area for Guilds to post upcoming meeting information and project information. Since I travel a lot, sometimes to other states, I am always viewing this site and it would be nice to visit another guild as time permits. Just wondering, thanks for the post! Greetings from Round Rock, Texas {Remember: Stop & Strop!}
  10. Appreciate the input. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  11. That's what I used on my latest project after screwing one up with "super Sheen" in place of Neatlac, it came out absolutely horrible. So I "stole" an open can of Neatlac from a friend since Tandy is not selling this product anymore. Man, that stuff works really good!! I appreciate the response, I hope to show off my latest project with the use of my 'stolen' can of neatlac. It's beautiful.....but when I went to put on my 'Tan Kote' the finish started coming off???? so I freak, just a little, but I stopped after the first coat. It dried for two days before I even considered the T-Kote? I guess I am still learning. Appreciate you Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  12. And I have to ask how you got the two tone and what color did you use for this process. Man that belt sure looks nice! Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  13. I use a Painter's briefcase that is made out of nylon (shhh, don't tell anyone here), anyways, it has pockets galore and some are attached by velcro. Some pockets are made out of netting material so they are visable and breath. I the larger portion, there is room for a small slab (6x10), mallet, tools, etc. It works out for now, but it will eventually give out for two reasons #1 it is made out of nylon which will with the appropriate amount of stress will give. #2 it is not made for leathercraft products. I depend a lot on my Tandy LF for stuff like slab, water, sponge, cutting board, etc so I don't have to take but just the essentials. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  14. WOW.....and I am having an hard time coming up with a slanted "project" tool rack (you know it hold about 6-8 tools and 1-2 knifes). I want it slanted towards the worker. This tool rack is going to be left at my Tandy LF where my Guild meets just because I feel like I am carrying a worksite box everytime I go in there to meet the O.F.C. club. Anyways, yours came out way more better than I could have dreamed of so far. Ways to you!! Greetings from Round Rock, Tx
  15. I don't mean to stomp on this thread, but I had a question for RAWHIDE. I looked on your supplier's website and saw your desired thread, but what does it mean "left" or "right" twist? I thought it would be better here then in a PM in case other would be interested. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  16. I envy some of you graphic designers, man it looks really cool. I would ask that you add a little more space just to make out the words easier. Other than, the content and colors look really, really cool. I've got a challenging one if your ever up to it. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  17. Welcome to the forum. Have a good time looking around. Just when you see what you think is enough on here in previous topics, you dig further and learn more... Greetings from Round Rock, Texas, USA
  18. I don't mean to trump this topic, but I have to say this is beautiful! Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  19. Do you mind sharing your finishing technique on this project? I really like the color and constrast. It really turned out beautiful! Thanks.
  20. Unique and beautiful at the same time. Way to go!
  21. You going to bring this stuff to our next guild meeting right? I hope so, I would like to see that Market bag? Later, your work is coming alone nicely. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  22. Isn't that background tool awesome. I love my set. I also thin it looks better when it is dyed. What color is this? Antique Mahogany? I came out great!! Greetings from Round Rock. Texas
  23. I found this one on the internet. It appears to be interesting. It looks like one of those that you can use while sitting on a chair. You'll notice that the bottoms pieces are curved like your thighs, not like the Tandy model that is flat. I thought I would share it will you all. Greetings from Round Rock, Tx
  24. Welcome to the forum where you will find many masters of this art and opinions to help you should you need it. Happy New Years greetings from Round Rock, Texas, USA
  25. I know what you mean, at first I couldn't get it. What I learn and do now is care mark your tool with a center mark (I used a sharpie) so I can orient my tool to my path. Second, tilt one corner (depending on with side and direction your going) and make sure that the corner is sunk into the previous tool mark. Once you register it, re-align the tool upward and hit it softly to register the whole tool mark. Then you just register the tool mark and hit it again tilting it on each direction until you get all three corners sunk. Note: Be very careful because you can actually hit it hard enough to go through up a 4oz piece. Trust me, lesson learned here. Good luck, I just finished a cell phone case with the tri-weave and I will try to send you a pix soon. New Years greetings from Round Rock, Texas
