I just picked up an airbrush compressor off craigslist for $20. The guy had several of them and life has changed, he had children. He was moving and was getting rid of some stuff. He couldn't find his extra air brushes, but would call me and offer them to me for $20 bucks each. I told him that I was considering the one at habor freight for $14.99 and he said that he wouldn't buy anything from HF. I told him that I was starting out and was looking for something to practice with. He told me that the compressor will outlast any HF brush. So far, I have $36 in a complete set up. I hope to study CitizenKate previous thread and tutorial and try it out. HobbyTom, go for it. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

True..............True I love my BK, but I would like a thick handle since my had almost goes around my BK twice. I know someone will mention something about how I am gripping it wrong, but that is how I get it comfortable for me. If you do make more, I would be interested in two handles to replace my BK handles. Just throwing it out there. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

Diddo on Hide Pounder's recommendations. I would only suggest that you read it 3-4 times a day for the next 4-6 weeks. You will be the Sheridan god! Best wishes and speedy recovery. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

That bulldog idea for the local school paid out. It really makes a good impression, but I am sure that press helped a lot.

Here is my two cents. I do this for a hobby, an expensive one by far. I have just about every Crafttool made and some old ones. I have been tooling for just over 2 years. I have been getting much better though far from a master anything close to it. I have recently made a decision to sell most of my Crafttools mainly because I have upgraded one by one to BK or Ellis Barnes. I do have to admit that it has been very tuff to make that transition mainly because the costs. Compare how many craftools I could buy for one shader or flower center. If I did this as a way to make a living either part time and full time, than I would buy the best to produce the best. My better half always says you get what you pay for. I figure at the rate I am going, I will change out my tools completely in about 2-4 years! Side note: I recently spent some time with George Hurst and we discussed the differences between the Craft tools and his Pro Crafter series tools. He went into why the Craft tools basically suck and how he managed the maker of the Pro series to his specs. I have some Pro Crafter tools and I can say they are much better than Craft Tools. They are in the middle between CT and BK, etc. For the money, If I knew now back then, I would go with Pro Crafter as an initial investment at $7 each. Hell, even the Craft Japan tools at $5.99 might be better than the Craft tools. Good luck Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

When I rode there in 07, it was not uncommon to see horses parked by the general store. It is a nice place to visit and take a load of your feet. Nice picture.... Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

Neatlac Replacement
King's X replied to rickeyfro's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
I just bought out Hide crafters small bottles of RTC to find something to substitute for Neat Lac. The RTC is Sheridan Resist & Finish. I figure I would be able to test out the small bottles first before I buy a larger one. I read above where another member mentioned to use two coats before applying the antique. I jsut learned that because I tried one coat and it didn't work. Good luck Greetings from Round Rock, Texas -
I would interested in the journals, books and patterns? Thanks Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

Hello all I was recently turned onto this supplier for a maker stamp. I purchased a large one, but I wanted something small that I could put on wallets, holsters, etc. The lady that runs the business is very nice and will do a lot of design work at no extra cost. If you send her something, she can turn it into a design. I scan a pencil version of what I wanted and she made it turn out nice. I thought that I had it on this computer, but it must be on the other computer, sorry. www.lasergiftcreations.com Leather stamp $35 plus TX tax and shipping. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

I have a couple duplicate copies of several of Stolhman's books on carving and lacing leather. I am also selling most if not all of my Crafttools since I have been replacing them with upgrades like Barry King & Pro Series. I will be offering my tools here first. PM if you are interested in the books and I will provide you a list of the books. I don't have many, but a few. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
