  1. Quick question....are you allowing the appropriate time for drying? I allow my super shene to dry at least 24-48 hours before I re-apply. I don't get that raised color issue. As for the satin shene, I didn't like it as a block out. The super works best for me. But I know what you are saying about the lifting because the Tan Kote does this to me everytime I use it?? I must admit that I have used the hi-liter though I thought about it recently. good luck.
  2. Holly: I had this come up recently with five roper wallets that a friend wanted. I did a tool version and also ordered a laser version and presented both to my friend. I must admit that the tooled version came out nice, but the laser version had much more detail. Give Ms. Brenda a shout (she is member here, recently joined) she does nothing but laser work and has gotten into leather stamps. But with me, I have taken her out of her comfort zone and she is willing to venture into other areas of leather. check out her website and at least get a quote from her if you decide to check with other vendors. FYI: I am not associated with this company other than as a satisfied customer. Good luck www.lasergiftcreations.com info@lasergiftcreations.com

Leather Embossing Class Bald Eagle Day and half Cost: $50 Location: Hide Crafters, Fort Worth
  4. Just wanted to let you know that Hide Crafters will be holding a two day Leather Embossing class at their store in Fort Worth the first weekend of May. The project will be the American Bald Eagle. The cost of the class is $50. Several of us are going, thought I would put it out there for others that maybe interested. Later.
  5. I love your lining. Very nice stamping. Good job. As a customer I would guessimate anywhere from $65-$85 with a closer look maybe higher. I would have Kevin King who is member here or some other like Bruce Johnson look at this for a better quote. I am sure there are way more wallet makers here that could chime in. Good Luck!
  6. Very nice...thanks for the pictures.
  7. That is rare though I think people should get paid for their work. I have spoken with Ms. Brenda many times and I am lucky to have her nearby. I do want to let you know that she does so many other things with her laser and leather. I had a friend/customer that wanted a particular and intricate design that I hesitated, but I asked Ms. Brenda to do me a sample. It turned out that we were able to work on it together and the friend/customer love it. I love my two stamps. I hope to get a larger one from her in the near future. Good luck.
  8. Not to steal the thread, but just do a search for Beard's tools. I placed a copy of the catalog on here not too long ago.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Please share any photographs of your work if you have any.
  10. Lucky you! Way to go Ed...
  11. Welcome to the Forum. Do a search (top right hand area of this page) and type in bruce johnson handbags. He was nice enough to publish a gigantic pattern book on bags. I am in the process of finishing my first "Bruce Bag" soon. He has some real winners in the book. Since I challenged in many ways, one to include IT and the other is artisically, I am of not help here or your other thread sorry. I am sure that someone will respond for you soon. Check out Bruce's handbag PDF book. Good luck
  12. Welcome to the forum. There have a been a few of New Yorkers on here lately. I hope you can join up. Please come back and show us your work!
  13. Very nice. It is funny that I see this post because I am planning on putting one a similar pattern project for our local guild possibly in June or July. I am not a fan of oak leaves, but I must say that it came out very nice. Great job.
  14. hello all I am slowly getting rid of my collection of Craft Tools that I have collected over the years. I have been buying some other tools and having several collections is not working any more. I just don't have any room on my desk. There are quite a few left. I have offered them to a member here when I posted a tid bit earlier about this fire sale. Once he decides what he doesn't want, I will offer them up before they go on eBay. Just a heads up.....thanks. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  15. hey Don101 Do mind sharing a copy of this scabbard pattern? I've got a project in a holding pattern that would work out great for this design. If you don't mind. I can pay for any copying and mailing. Just drop me a line and let me know what I need to do. You can email the pattern in sections if you like as well. I would sure appreciate it. kingsxaustin(at)sbcglobal(dot)net Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

  18. JBird You got my card with the package I recently send right? You whatever words you want to off that card. I like the picture, but I agree with several others here, I would remove the items that you would do. That way it keeps your options open or close depending on what YOU want to do or can do. good luck Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  19. Cool, thanks Bruce! Great pattern. I will post pictures when I am done. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  20. Bruce or anyone else that had made this purse...I need some clarification. I am making the Tooled Leather Purse in Bruce's pattern book. I am at the point where I am going to attach the chap leather. Can anyone that has made this purse send me some more pictures of the side where the chap meets the tooled part? Maybe the zipper and well? I am looking to see if the chap leather was turned in a bit before it was stitched to the tooled side, so it gives it a clean edge? Sorry, I am a visual person. Any help would surely be apprecaited. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  21. There you go. I do this craft as my hobby, big different. What I am finding out is you pay for what you get. You buy cheap, you get cheap! I have been purchasing a couple of BK tools and boy is there a difference. Now, I am sell all two hundred of my crafttools to turn around and purchase a few more top line tools. I just went crazy at the beginning and amast these tools. some have never been used. Anyways, purchase the best since you want to do this for a business, that I would agree with. As for me, estate sales and a BK tool here and there will be quite fine for me. Good luck. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

  23. I picked up my glass slicker from Hobby Lobby from the scrapbooking area, I believe. It is a little 3"x3" square piece. Good luck You might want to conduct a search for casing solution. I remember Rawhide (Marlon) and another member had a pretty good thread going. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
  24. Congrats on your future purchase. I frequently use my 2lb and 3lb bk for stamping bw. I believe you would be more than okay with a 2 lb. Good luck and get back to us on how it goes. Greetings from Round Rock, Texas
