Neat rivets. The holster looks good - I'd like to see it totally finished with the edges burnished and a topcoat. Well done. Looks exactly like the results I first got when I tried the eco flow dye (Java brown) for the first time.

If you use an email client, you may want to compress and save your saved email messages so you can import them into the new computer. (also you may want to export your account settings so you don't have t dig around for usernames/passwords, smtp settings, etc). I'd be interested in knowing what the error was and how much RAM you have in that thing. You can score some good quality memory pretty cheap these days - same with a new internal hard drive. (Here's a 160GB drive for $41.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136075 ) In any case, you may also want to check if some of your common programs use settings files that you could hang on to. I know I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver on a daily, and have customized shortcuts, keys, etc. I wouldn't want to be without those settings files.

I couldn't agree more. In the past years, I've had the opportunity to run XP, Vista, Ubuntu, RedHat, etc etc, and can tell you with great accuracy that the Vista OS has been the biggest trouble in our IT environment, and thusly not used. It does appear that Win 7 might be a viable alternative to Vista, particulary because it's hardware requirements and it;s supposedly a less-resource intensive OS. I've been running OSX for a while now and suggest looking into a Mac platform, as well. I run boot camp (Windows XP) when I need to and enjoy a low-stress environment in OS X the other 90% of the time. Not having to worry about worms, viruses, etc is also nice.

As promised... Angelus dye - scanned, not photographed. All dye was applied at full strength with the included dauber. 1. Jet black 2. Russet (little Boston Terrier hair for good measure) 3. English tan This dye soaks in much more than Fiebing's and I will be ordering more in the future. Cheers!

I liek the Resolene when airbrushed. I did, however, over do it on a piece recently and was able to strip the resolene off with pure acetone. My vinagaroon has been sitting for quite a whiel now, and it works really fast, but I've never achieved a shade of black that could pass as dye.

I'm flattered - I use a harness needle, thimble, waxed thread, and my hands in surgical gloves. I think BOOMSTICK and many other pros opt for the Artisan Toro 3000. Some day...

One of these days I'll buy enough dye to be able to dip them. I too dye before I mold and before I stitch.

Same here. My Angelus samples came in today, so expect a swatch test within the next week or so.

I requested 002 Jet Black, 095 Russet, and the 019 English Tan. I'll post photos when they come and I get some sample swatches.

Thanks all - I'm definitely eager to try the Angelus dyes, as I've grown quite fond of the airbrush. When my samples come, I'll have to do a test and compare dip vs. airbrush with Fiebings and Angelus. I've tried the dip method before and the run-off makes the bottom area darker (I could be doing something wrong).

I also think it's a great start. I would do pretty much the same as everyone else as far as curves go. Also, there's probably not enough room left at the fold over the top of the slide. In any case, I've attached a quick Photoshop image for you. Make sure to post pics when you're done!

So, this is my first attempt at airbrushing brown dye. My previous brown experiences were with a dauber, and they didn't turn out as even as I'd like. In most cases, the brown eventually looked black due to me trying to even it all out. I have to say that I'm quite pleased with the result and will be airbrushing everything from now on - except the interior of the holster. Comments and critique welcome! Holster specs: Leather - 7-8 oz Dye - Fiebings Dark Brown Finish - Resolene Pistol - Glock 27 Here's a shot next to a recently finished black one. The black one was my first try at the baby Glock pattern which is apparent by the corrected stitch line on the brown version (around the trigger guard).

If I had a machine, I'd do the same thing, Lobo! Your belt looks great, as do all of your products. BOOMSTICK, do you mean the far left stitch in photo number 1? (I'm new to belt lingo!)

I have an old pickle jar that looks like super strong tea with mere particles at the bottom. The particles started life as an entire pad of 0000 steel wool. The vinegaroon is strong and works fast.

Temperature - of course. It has been a little chilly in the shop . So, Sam, be cautious of temperature when using resolene, as well. It's a great looking/working sealer. (Thanks, Twosons)

Also note, I just got done spraying a project with full strength resolene and didn't stop spraying until I saw a light cream colored film on the leather. It's been over 48 hours and it still feels a little tacky. I may have used too much - so go in light coats if you spray. Without hijacking this thread, anyone know how to remedy this?

Hey I think it looks great. I'm also finishing up my first G27 holster for a customer, and man are they small! Do you have a shot of it being worn? It looks nice.
