Yet another test piece. This is a beat up and distressed look. Think it would make a nice wallet? It just hangs on my bench, taunting me.

This is a straight razor sheath I've been working on. It's a pretty unique design for what it is and I just need to figure out the hinge. I have some brass plate and I'm thinking of making a small hinge with it. The buckle is actually an equestrian boot buckle and has a button you press to release it.

My 9 year old son scored this test wallet. I was still perfecting the process of using stencils with vinegaroon and had it just about right on this one. Of course, now that he has a wallet, all he does is ask me for dollars to fill it.
  4. Thanks! Sure, you can copy it. I got the inspiration from a cousin who made a fantastic display case for some vintage tools his father has. I've found that old sod pallets seem to have the qualities I want, which are heavily weathered, full of discoloration from constantly being covered in dirt and fantastic stains from the nails. I made a similar display case for a Single Action Army pistol for a charity auction for with my Cowboy Action Shooting group. It hurt to see it go because it was a perfect match.

He didn't want a lot of card slots. I Gave him 4 and a large slot under each of the tan pieces. The liner is about 1.75 oz veg tanned goat. It seems to take the dye just like the cow.

I completed the 'Robot' wallet for me friend.

I got a pretty nice response when I posted my wallet picture on Facebook. This is the first paid wallet based off of that design. I have a friend who's an artist and he sometimes paints some pretty neat looking retro robots, so I wanted to incorporate that into this design. It sort of has a retro, antique, almost steam punk feel to it. I've got some more stitching and finish work to do but I am very pleased. My next paid wallet is nautical themed for a friend who is a merchant marine captain.

    Wallet

I cut the posts with wire cutters and rounded the tip out by pinching it with the cutter from all sides. I hammer them face down on the marble slab while the leather is a little damp to make them flat and set into the leather a bit.

    Wallet

    From the album: Leather Things

My wallet was looking pretty nasty so I decided to make use of the old Tandy wallet kit that's been sitting in the bottom of my leather scraps drawer for a few years. I decided to go with stitching rather than the cheap lace that was included with the kit. Now I have a new wallet and my wife isn't ashamed of me anymore, not for my wallet at least.

Only kind of leather related (That's a leather hat). Sorry. I just wanted to show off this drawing my mother made for me. She is amazing in so many ways and this just shows off a tiny bit of her talent. It's all pencil and based on a picture I took for her. It proudly hangs in my 'man cave' along with my rifle box.

This is how I display my rifle cuff. I made this box from some really old and nasty pallets. Came out exactly how I wanted, like something made 125 years ago in a barn.
  13. Thank you. This is one of my favorites to wear.
