  1. Really awsome ! Il like the center part.
  2. The customer didn't want decorations on the back - because it would have been too long (I still added a small one) The backround tools are A105 and A104
  3. The borders are hand sewn - I don't know the total time it tooks to do the whole armour but it's between 30 and 50 hours.
  4. I designed the motives myself to fit in the different areas. My Idea is to have a main motive that can be seen from a distance, and other ones that you can appreciate when your near. The customer showed me a simple design for the round panel (he had it on a belt bucke) but I found it was too plain so I added a thin line. The rest was inspired by celtic and viking examples but not copies (you won't find a pattern that fits so you have to design your own). An example of a self designed pattern for a spaulder (7-8 hours of design). and the result :
  5. Here is the last armour I made (God, make this one be the last one!)
  6. This Book is "The reference" : Celtic Art : The Methods of Construction on amazon.com > Link (the same book with two different covers)
  7. It's riveted in the middle and on the sides (not flexible at all, but it's only a torso armour) another picture and another from a spaulder The design took me 8 hours - It always seems so simple when it's done...
  8. You can tell that your policy is that you'll only consider a written proposition, you won't discuss it on the phone - end of the conversation. Make it short, be kind and polite, just make the other part fine with it, but remember the policy. A friend of mine told me his method : " in NO, which part do you not understand ? " - funny, but I thinks it's too rude. Personnaly I often orient the conversation about my products with a lot of enthousiasm - maybe I could sell something to the person who calls (then I don't make it short). Afterall, this phone line is here for your customers, then use it in this way.
  9. And (a long time after ) the pictures of the finished project
  10. Thank you answers to the questions : I will color the whole armour with antique finish (Tan) and then add red and brown It is 3 and 3-4 mm leather The work took 30 hours (and it's not finished) I made all the tooling before I mold the pieces on a dummy. The guy is the same size (and circumference) as me... so I modified the pattern of an armour I've made for me (the one below).
  11. Oh ! I like it very much ...especially the dragons
  12. This is an armour I make for a friend ... It should be finished in a week or two. I will add borders and make a red/brown color.
  13. Wow... - I'm speechless - ...you're on the top !
  14. Now I work on an armour. Here's the piece that covers the back at the bottom (lumbar). I thinked it would be done in an hour or two because the pattern wasn't complicated, but it took five... it's a big area and the tools are still the same (small) size.
  15. Good idea, I'll try it on my next project.
  16. Thank you The satchel was so much work...never again ! But I still think I should see the original Armagh satchel and make a better one.
