Hi, I would like to hear your ideas on shop layouts... I specialise in chaps, chinks, and armita's, and have feet problems. So that causes issues if I can't walk as much as I'd like. Any of you have the same type of issues? A person always seems to end up running back and forth for this tool and that pattern, some glue, a hammer... The list goes on. Thanks for any input and ideas!

hello, just wanting to see what all your ideas are on keeping your thread from breaking from accidentally piercing it with the second needle. Hope that you can get what I am meaning. I am using prewaxed thread with big, extremely, sharp CS Osborne glovers needles. I am sewing up a cantle binding and getting really frustrated. anyone got any ideas? Thank you

Hello, just curious what brand you all think makes the best rosette cutter? Right now I am looking at either one from Douglas tools or one from CS Osborne. CS Osborne is a bit more affordable but if I would rather buy the best then save a little bit. Also what size do most of you get for on saddles? Thankyou

Here are some pics of my tooling and one that was tooled by Paul Vandyke, which is kind of what I am trying to get. I draw my own patterns as I am doing custom work for other people. So I need someone to tell me What I am doing wrong. Why isnt my tooling turning out proper? I cased it overnight and let dry to to pretty much completly natural. It doesnt have that smooth proffesional look that a lot of you guys can do. Is the way I draw my patterns? Thanks for any input

Do you just sponge the water and acid on and let it sit? -

Hi, I get black spots on my leather when I case it. I use Herman oak. I tried buying water cause I thought maybe there was metal in the water. I just did a cantle and it's peppered with black spots. Kind of discouraging. How do you fix it? -
thankyou

hi, i have a question. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to efficiently use a hide when cutting out a pair of armitas? -
I am starting on my first saddle and I have a few questions. A customer asked me to build one so I decided to give it a try. He ordered a square skirt wade so I am wanting that old vaquero style. In my al stolman saddle making book he discouraged the 'suare' skirt cause he said it would curl and also not to do the stirrup leathers on the outside of the fenders. I also want the stirrup leathers loop through the seat cover, and I want to make the front jockey separeate from the seat cover, but I have never been told how to do this. another question is is designing the fender so that although the stirrup leather is on the outside it is still comfortable. And also, has anyone heard of the one piece ground seat[which uses a strainer plate]? I know these are a lot of quetions but I would be very grateful for some pointers. thankyou

hello, i would like to make a martingale breast collar but i have no idea how to make the pattern. I have searched for a place that would sell me one but I am having a hard time. Would anyone have any ideas about drawing a pattern or any help getting one? Also I would appreciate any ideas on building one and the best way to do it. I loaded a pic so you would know what type of breast collar I am interested in. Thankyou for any help you can give
