Yes I built the longbow from scratch. I just started doing them This is the forth one I have done. To get started I purchased a tape from Bringham projects. They have all you need to get you going. Also Stickbow.com and Tradegang, have very good information and bow buildalongs to help you get started and you can post questions. If you get started and have questions contact me and I will help you out however I can. Thanks for the nice comments Goldwing. OHIO
Thanks for the response!! Those are some nice looking Bows!

I really like the design and color!! Awesome Job!!!
Did you build the longbow from scratch or use some sort of kit? If it was a kit could you recommend a source as I have always wanted to make one!!

In my opinion the worlds best unknown leatherworker, everything he touches to my knowledge is hand stitched.
I like him as well as Xian Leather , Christian does all his work by hand, however he did get a machine a while back. but you can tell which was done on a machine, they are all motorcycle seats.

Nice job!!

I think your buddy is going to be very pleased!! Great job!

I demand to see you in the entire outfit! And by demand, I mean please?
I agree we have to see the whole costume!! Please!!!

They look great! The only suggestion I would have is to make the gussets a little longer on the top so they fold over and don't leave a gap between the flap and the bag (you can see what I mean on the darker one). Otherwise great job!! What weight leather did you use?

Bro that Freakin Rocks!!! Great job!!!!

Hi Brad-
Paul Burnett does some fabulous scroll work and has lessons on his web site: http://www.paintingc...dy_courses.html
He is also going to be hosting free lessons on LW: http://leatherworker...showtopic=18691
If you are looking for design ideas, I have a few books I bought from Amazon.com and one of them is called "Florid Victorian Ornament" and another is "Baroque Ornament and Designs".
Crystal
Thank you for the information, I have the "Baroque Ornament and Designs" book, I will take a look at the other info also.

Do you happen to have a picture? I guess if I don't recognize the word, my answer will be of no value to you. Sorry

Has anyone ever tried doing this type of design work on leather? If so do you have any pictures of the work?

I just use newspaper or old magazines, I have used kitchen garbage bags (don't throw away when you are done, let them dry and you can use them in the kitchen). If you have the room you could just make a dedicated dying area, that is my hope some day!
Let us know what your final solution is!!!!
