  1. Ok, where do you buy the needles from? Which system...all very confusing to me.
  2. Thank you What needle and thread size are you using to do that?
  3. Hey everyone, I just picked up a really nice Pfaff 138 machine and I was wondering what its limitations are? I was curious if I could sew lighter weight leather with it or is it only for fabric? I've been told different things from different people. So, at this point Im confused?? I am debating putting it up for sale if I cant use it for leather at all(which is why I bought it, and stupid for not posting this before I purchased it *facepalm*). Any suggestions or comments are appreciated. I just want to learn more about it, and decide if Im going to keep it or not. Its a great machine and in amazing condition! Thanks!
  4. where is this machine located?
  5. Seems to have been the blades. New ones haven't had any issues. Thanks everyone for your feedback.
  6. yes, the blades touch the nylon roller
  7. It doesn't have a way to adjust the blade tension. Ill wait for my new (x2 the cost!) new blades to come in..if they break I guess I know its definitely not the blades.
  8. I dont have a steel roller, its a nylon roller/tube. Brand new.
  9. They insist that they are the same blades when I called and complained about it. I ordered their upgraded steel ones this time around so we will see if they make any difference. Hopefully thats the only issue. Its also breaking my old blades that should be the stronger ones as well.
  10. Hey guys, my strap cutter is all of a sudden breaking blades. It was normal once in awhile when the blades would get thinner from sharpening but I got a set of 6 and they all broke in a week. These are the same blades I've always ordered. Any ideas? The blades also seem to almost be getting shredded. I also tried to put a new roller on to see if that was the issue and it still broke blades. I'm cutting a variety of leather thicknesses and types also. Been using this machine for almost 20 years and have NEVER had any issues.

  20. Hi there, I keep getting requests for rawhide romel repairs. Does anyone do that? Usually it's at the popper end where the leather piece attached thru,or at the rein connection. Id be super appreciative if anyone knows or does repairs like that. Thank you!

  22. This is a great thread! I'm in the process of setting up my shop. Love seeing everyone's machines. As far as work benches, what are the dimensions of most people's? As others stated, lower back issues keep me from bending over too much and I'm pretty tall. Would love to hear others opinions.
  23. Thanks so much guys! Got the part ordered.
