Thank you folks. I was thinking the machine could more than that. I'm glad I didn't get it now. I would like one to sew 6 to 7oz leather. Glad I didn't spend my money1
I was at the Dixie Draft Horse Sale in Troutman NC today and let a Singer 29K58 get away from me. I had set a limit for myself of $250. The machine was wone for $255. It seemed to be in fairly good shape. The previous owner said it worked well. I am kinda sick!
Has anyone ever used silver dye on tooled leather? Is there a dye for this? Tandy has a silver acrylic, but I'm afraid it might eventually rub off. Not sure what to do!
Aww man! I might have put this in the wrong place. Moderators, please move if need be.
Very nice work. I have thinking about trying a tankard myself.
I sure do miss the Texas Ren fest. I was going and watching a little known group (at that time) called the Texas Rogues. I do get to attend the Maryland Ren fest, but it isn't home. Enjoy your weekend!
I have been making sporrans about a year now, Calanneh. I have tooled leather off and on since my rodeo days in the mid seventys. Thank you all for your responces, I really am glad to find this forum!
Here is a pic of the backs. Don't have pictures of inside right now. Also some more of my creations.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm really pleased to have found a forum of my peers. Great place!
How do you decide what your time is worth? We are talking about an artform, are we not? I have been struggling with this for almost a year now. Charge too much, no sales. Charge too little, no profit. Very difficult to find that "magic" number!
WOW! I just found this forum, seems to be a very good place to learn new things. I have been working leather off and on for about 38 years. I am always looking for a fun project. This seems to be the place for it! Just wanted to say hello to everyone!
