Here is South Dakota, its not hard at all to get a tax licence. Just do the tax paperwork twice a year. The licence doesn't cost anything here.

I have a bolt in mine. Works ok, I think would be better with a drill press. Making your own would be good too. You can get a mandrell for an electric motor at the hardware store.

I use the clear packing tape, no fibers. I have used the dollar store stuff with no issues, although a wallet has been my largest project.

They look great. I must disagree with Roo, though, I like the diag cut end.
