  5. Clay M. thanks, I am not cutting deep enough. I will practice to feather. I will try to tilt my beveler. Is there a right way to use the bargrounders? Or do you just keep tapping until it feels right. I appreciate your comments, thank you.Stephanie I am asking about learning in general. Not about any particular piece,at this time. Just realize that I need the appearance of depth. Stephanie Clay, I think judging the casing has been answered by both you and Whinwwine. Thanks to you both. Rubber cementing will be tried soon. I am going to go for deeper cuts on the next practice piece. Thank you. The help here is awesome. Sorry just couldn't let the Bert and Ernie thing go.. Got me curious. Thanks stephanie

  7. Need any tips or instruction here. Looking at the pictures posted by Clay of the Sheridan 07 show. First they are beautiful. Second, how do I get more depth in my carving? To get the depth ,is it the swivel knife cuts, actual stamping tools, how well the leather is cased, the quality of the leather itself, or do I need a big d--- maul?....or all of the above  Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks Stephanie

  14. The swirl I bought was from a maker in TX. I have looked all over for his address, can't come up with it. It is a fraction bigger then the pattern on my old Hamley saddle. Wish I could remember the gentlemans name who made it. It took about 8 months before I got it,but it was worth the wait.I will keep looking for his name,he does good work.Stephanie

  19. Thanks Romey, the last thing I need to do is get someone sored up. I really want to get it right. Any one can sell the first set...I want repeat business and positive word of mouth. I appreciate the lead. Another bunch that I will try to get chaps on is the guys and gals at the track. There is another thing I have to consider, they ride pretty short , should I worry about leather weight or add in an inch around at the knee, or put in a heel down. I used a heel down ,but never rode as short as the Jocks. Any thoughts on this? Thanks Stephanie
  20. I get to answer my own question. Someone with better eyes then I, made out the mark on it. S. F. Ahlstrom from Lakeview Oregon has his stamp on it. Stephanie
