  1. Yes Sir your not too far away. Guessing about 150 miles or less. It workd great for belts, holsters, chaps, knife sheaths, harness, all types of cowboy gear, etc. In my opinion it's good for anyone not just a newbie. It's boils down to personal use & opinion. If you are needing to do a lot of sewing I would say go motorized just for the fact of time & speed. The thing I like about the Tippman is I control it completely. I had a Tachsew beofre this machine & it was way too fast for me. Good machine, it was just the wrong machine for what I used it for. I am thinking on replacing it with the Cowboy 3500 to speed things up a bit plus I have 3 kinds of arthritus & 2 shoulder surgeries & the cranking the handle gives me some problems. I am just going to make it easier on me more than anything. Hope this helps with your questions. Tex Ye Sir I still have it.

    7/8" Round Spots

    I think they are stainless cause I can't smell any brass. I don't know any other way to tell. They are round but flat, not domed. 3/16" tall not including the prongs. 1/2" tall including the prong.

  11. I am selling my TIppman Boss hand stitcher. Serial # 1719. Model H-S. This is a cast iron model, not an aluminum model. It is In good condition & stitches like it should. Included are 7 bobbins, 3 needles, bobbin winder shaft, left & center presser feet, small plastic TIppman parts box & TIppman manual. For some reason this is all the pictures I could get to upload. Appearantly I do know how to take pictures either, don't know why they are sideways. $1000.00 plus shipping.

  13. Excellent craftsmanship. Did you hand stitch it or machine stitch it? The black looks good on it with the domed rivets. If you wanted some white you could always paint it in. Tex
  14. I don't know if it will help you or not but Tandy is closing their Chattanooga, Tn. store. You could call David (the mgr.) there & he would probably give you a managers discount on a new Tandy splitter. I ask about 1 & it was priced to me for $250.00. Their number is 1-800-251-7782 or 423-855-7366. They are trying to sell as much as possible so they don't have to ship it to other stores. Tex

  16. When you say going for at auctions, are you talking about what they have them listed for with a starting price on Ebay? All those on Ebay have pretty high starting prices without any bids. That is the 1 thing about an auction, what an item sells for is really about all it is worth. Starting prices on these sites really doesn't mean much unless someone is willing to bid that starting price. I am not knocking your saddle, so please don't take it that way cause to you it may be worth much more than I quoted earlier that it might sell for. I base my idea on saddle values ( which don't mean anything to anyone ) is if the saddle is made by an individual that is a saddle maker from start to finish or if it is a factory made saddle that has been worked on by many. There is a whole world of difference between the 2. Sorry I can't help you on this saddle cause there is not a lot of info on them. All there really is that they were a saddle factory from out in San Francisco, California.
  17. It is just a light weight trail or pleasure saddle. I don't like to tell people what their stuff is worth but if you were selling it, you probably could get between $100.00 to $150.00 for it. Tex.
  18. I don't know of a video on lacing the back belt on chinks. I just took me a pc. of scrap & figured it out. Really pretty simple but I don't have any pictures of it. Maybe I can explain it, lol, not good at explaining. Punch holes in a triangle shape. Measure your distance between the holes you punch so they will be even. I usually do 4 to 6 sets. It just depends on how you want it to look laced. Lay your belt on the chinks & mark your holes & punch them also. Make sure on all measurements before you punch your holes cause once you punch a hole you are at the point of no return. 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Start at the bottom 2 holes from the bottom side with you lace & run up through them. Even your lace out to the ends & then run both ends of lace down through the center hole. Then from the bottom side again run the lace back up through the next 2 outer holes. The run both ends again down through the center hole. Do this for as many sets of holes as you have punched. Keep your lace on the same side that you start it on. When you get to the last center hole you punched run it down through the hole & down to the bottom where you started at & run lace ends underneath your 1st bottom loop. I have run it under all loops also. Beat lace down flat with your cobblers hammer on front & back. Pull your lace tight as you lace the belt to the chinks. I am sure there are others that do it differently but this is how I have always done it. Anyway I hope this helps you out. Tex
  19. I use weld wood. It's a whole lot cheaper than all that high $ stuff & holds durn good.

    Are there no harness makers or motorcycle saddlebag makers anymore that would need these spots?
