  1. Should there be a pocket (or two, or a couple of straps) for the tabs to go into? Or, glue as suggested, then glue +/or stitch a thin leather piece (match or contrast, or a lining of some sort) over where the flaps are glued to cover that area, and it would as suggested above, create another pocket at each end.
  2. I putter at it. Years ago I had a radial arm saw when I built decks. gave it away. the things scare me! I have large contractor grade table saw, but I wish I had invested in a decent size band saw instead. I think, track saws and a good band saw is the way to go if you have limited space, which is my situation, too much stuff. I have a bench top sears, I like the thing, but... Also have lathes. Love going to woodworking shows. Call me a wannabe woodworker, and purchaser of woodworking stuff.
  3. Please don't be offended, I am sure you did this, but .... good magnifing glass, perhaps its a allen, just a very tiny indent? I had one, don't recall why, but I used a very small grub screw, it was harder than the belt tip, so by carefully screwing it in, it cut its own threads out of the slightly smaller threads of the tip.
  4. Nice woodwork. Band saw? Lots of sanding? and maybe a large forstner bit?
  5. A lot of work, and they look pretty darn good. Very substantial. When you tell someone you made them they will look at you with that dropped jaw stunned look, "YOU MADE THOSE?". That will feel pretty good.
  6. Ragweed Forge great store, I have a few Mora knives from them.

  9. Maybe you can find someone in your area. https://www.americanbladesmith.org/
  10. The wood on the one with the long split, most likely has shrunk, and or when it was made the blade was a bit snug and stress finally cracked it. Not much a bladesmith can do to restore wood back to whole. When woodworkers encounter splits, and they want to use that piece of wood, epoxy or CA, very dark brown or black to blend as good as they can, or color to add accent. It is possible, with the split one, someone forced the blade in an split it. If it is loose enough to take off, you could try some wood glue, and clamp it back closed, see if it works, then carefully fit the blade back it. TAPE the blades edges!!! But I am sure you would do that anyway
  11. Cracked handle could be filled with colored epoxy. Color to match the wood as close as you can, or a color to compliment your kitchen. CA glue can also be used, Starbond has vids on how to build up layers and color. I fixed an old handle with plastiwood filler.
  12. Hm, I see Springfield reduced the price on the machine.
  13. @SUP I think the ruler is metric, the one is a centimeter, his first post showed them 8mm wide (or long, or left to right).
  14. @SUP other way around, the ones he wants are thinner, smaller, the 2 in the pic. He says easily bent by hand.
