Hello All, I bought some leather "splits" from Springfield Co, and after receiving them, I'm kind of at a loss as to how to best use them. Springfield indicates that since they are veg tan, they should be good for carving stamping, dyeing, etc. I also am not seeing the material as very durable for the outdoors. I am looking to make pouches and small bags, largely for myself, but eventually for sale-able projects as well. Any help is appreciated, thanks you all!

I really don't post a whole lot around here, but I thought I should start. So here I am, and here's a cuff that I'm particularly proud of. I work on horse hair and leather for the most part, and I decided to try a little something different. I gave this cuff to a guy who cosplays as various themes of Santa and he's been test wearing this cuff for a few months, every day in. He still loves it and it's wearing in well. Here are photos of the cuff before I sent it off to him. The outside is veg tan leather, dyed with a mix of red and a few other colors to get that deep Christmas red and the strap was a mix of dye colors as well to get that Christmas green.

Hi everyone. ....I posted some of my rattle snake hides that I was tanning, and a few people wanted to see what I would make with them. I finally got a chance to work on a breastcollar demo and got it finished. I wanted to do something different than a normal "flat" colored stain. So I got creative with two different types of my stains, and came up with this. It's completely made by hand, and hand stitched also. I'll post the pictures of the headstall and wither strap when I get them made and finished.
