Yeap, like the shape and the choice of themes.Plus the reason you aare doing them. Tooling is fine also.

After awhile you.will have the urge to do Scenes also. Thats what got me going  with my style.

Be glad to point you to some software to design your scenes to incorparate in the coasters shapes your using.

I use 4 inch rounds or 4 inch x 6 inch and 2 inch x 3 inchwhengetting low and waiting for a shipment of leather.

The paint bug maay take hold and 2 stores will be happy having you as a customer.

Thank you !!  The shape came about from a piece of scrap I did something on and when done ,  I liked it .   I  worked with square and round  & plumb all my life  so I guess this might be how I rebel

It's not really the best use of material  though .

Thank you Sir . The scenes have already crossed my mind but I have a ways to go before I can do small stuff that would fit on a coaster . I would appreciate knowing about the software for the future .

I am gonna leave the painting to you Sir , I do love to look at your work !!

Ok here goes. I use adobi photoshopto scale up or down an image Any free photo editor will do it.Also useit to ajust contrast.

Iiuse Cutout 8  foe the background image i want. It can cut out an image from a backgroud also. I use this program to insert individual images -scale and move about.

For cuting out  something like a horse or what ever i use Impixio Photo shop.

One most importain thing is tracing paper.

you got it. fine tuning will help and a program that will scale down will doo you wonders. I for got to mention that i use printmaster to sale the whole image to fit any size  of leather i am working with.

The picture has 3 props. Hat,badge and the cigar. each scaled to fit.

I like the way you've broken away from the square or round for a coaster

Thanks , it has grown on me but like I say it is not the best use of material . I guess a person could make something similar but with  symmetrical curves  for the pattern so as to flip and not waste much .
