I recently picked up an old model Ruger Vaquero at a gun show and of course it needed a holster made for it. I wanted something that resembled an original 19th century period holster that is in the Packing Iron book on page 105 (See Photo) but not an exact copy so I came up with this.

Holsters cool, but I really like the pistol that goes in it

Thanks and Yeah, the Vaquero just had to come home with me. I really liked the look of it also.

Yes it is. It was not my first intention to do so on this holster but I did not like the design I first had there so I changed it up. Its not as clean as I would like but I was going for more of a 1870s-1880s saddle shop look so it worked. 

 

Here is a stacked mules foot that I did on a pair of holsters and spur straps that are a little bit cleaner.
