Members JWheeler331 Posted September 24, 2022 Members Report Posted September 24, 2022 I recently picked up an old model Ruger Vaquero at a gun show and of course it needed a holster made for it. I wanted something that resembled an original 19th century period holster that is in the Packing Iron book on page 105 (See Photo) but not an exact copy so I came up with this. Quote

Members Burkhardt Posted September 27, 2022 Members Report Posted September 27, 2022 Are those just stacked mules foot that you used for the stamping? It's amazing the different ways a stamp can be used for different designs. Looks good. Quote
Members PastorBob Posted September 27, 2022 Members Report Posted September 27, 2022 Nice work. Love the unique pattern around the holster. Quote

It was not my first intention to do so on this holster but I did not like the design I first had there so I changed it up. Its not as clean as I would like but I was going for more of a 1870s-1880s saddle shop look so it worked. Here is a stacked mules foot that I did on a pair of holsters and spur straps that are a little bit cleaner. 2 hours ago, PastorBob said: Nice work. Love the unique pattern around the holster. Members Burkhardt Posted September 27, 2022 Members Report Posted September 27, 2022 I struggle getting the spacing right on doing them on vine work, I would butcher something that long. Looks good. Quote
