yes! they have muscle movement for quite a while. It is practice, around here anyway, to cut off their head and bury it so an animal or person doesn't get bit by it. It will bite and release its venom for a long time without being attached.

yes, shamans used to use them in rituals

The rattle is old dried up skin held in a 'pouch' made of dried skin on the tail

kind of,  a series of interconnected buttons made from something similar to finger nail or maybe horn except very thin and see thru, the noise is made due to the loose connections between each button, they are hollow and empty and act as a amplifier of the noise. They did use them in rituals but a person cant shake them fast enough to rattle believe me I've tried. The older the snake the more buttons on the tail, they are added every time the snake sheds it skin.

Sorry Frodo, gone off topic again here. So , in 'Two Mules For Sister Sara', Clint Eastwood & Shirley MacLaine,   that would be true.  Always wondered about that. Thanks. Tastes like chicken too I guess.

The pattern on the  holster ( bottom pic) , would have been just difficult as basket weave & tri weave ,and making your eyes go 'cross eyed'  Quite like it.

no such thing as off topic.
conversation is the exchanging of thoughts and ideas

While in gauged in a conversation  the tide of topics tends to follow its own path as ideas are exchanged. If the original topic was an interesting topic to begin with the conversation will eventually come back to that topic

off topic does not exist it is a made up term

All the holsters look very fine indeedy

What are you putting on them to get such a high gloss which is showing in the photos

With respect; are you tending to rush finishing these? they seem to have a little look of a rushed end to the job

I'd be happy to try eating  that, perhaps with some dipping sauce  ,  at lunch, while I'm doing leather work, and washed down with a nice red wine or a beer.  They look more tasty than chicken nuggets .

While the holster looks great, ' Judgement' has an ' E' in it , sorry to point that out.
