Carved Nameplate on Bum Bag

Recommended Posts

Made a bum bag for air rifle Field Target, at the match a person looked it over and wanted one. He mentioned that the Europeans have their names on them. Well we put his name on with a western flair.

You do very beautiful work Walter. Did you draw your letters. I will be making a purse for my sister and want to have initials with that size and style.

You did a great job on the basket weave as well .Basket weave can be quite challenging at times.

Thank you, they are from the fonts in photoshop. Any word processer should have a variety of fonts. I think google has one. What has help me is working my patterns in photoshop then printing them on vellum sheets. They can be found at office max. I will case my leather then wrap it in cling wrap and tape it on the back to both seal and make it taught on the front. Place the vellum on top of the cling wrapped leather and use a fine point pen to trace over the lines. For me it is more natural and since the leather is sealed there is no hurry as the leather won't dry out nor will the vellum become soggy. Chased a squirrel there.

Thank you, it is hard to wrap around text and join up on the other side. First time for me and if you look below the o in Porch  there are some adjustments to line it up again. Yes Sir it can be challenging.

Very nice work and thank you for the explaining process. I'm going to be trying that in the near future.
