I don't know if you noticed it on his website Diesel but he has a tutorial posted on using petal lifters along with a few other tutorials.

He's quite a talented guy from what I can see of his work posted on his site. He does inlay work as well as leatherwork ~

Thanks. Yeah I checked his tutorial out 6 or so months ago, when I was trying to decide who's petal lifters to get.

Laser etched plexiglass

The makers mark is glued the a steel plate

I have stamps that are 6” x 6”. As long as you use a steel plate and press in multiple places it is good to go

Thanks I appreciate the info. A guy might need a cheap harbor freight press for a stamp that big!

How you getting along with your makers marks? If I had seen this sooner id have suggested exactly where you ended up going. I got mine about a year ago now...

Best couple hundred I've spent in some time. Mine is on a 1" square, makes the stamp about 15/16" diameter.

What do you use to set it? Ive got a 3# deadblow that works pretty good.

I love my stamps Tim did for me. I got 2 makers stamps a 1" & 1½"

For setting I bought the big Barry king maul I can't remember for sure, but I think it is 32oz.

I know if you don't case your leather good enough, the 1½" sometimes takes a couple hits.
