Treating rattlesnake skin

so, I inlaid this rattlesnake skin into this vest about 30 years ago..however it is starting to lift at spots. What can I treat it with?

If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit.  Follow this link for some helps and suggestions.  https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171  There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes.  800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate.  Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution.  People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.

Well the owner has always treated it with Vaseline..& truly I must say it kept it soft .. it’s back to me because he tried to overlay a portion with another piece of rattlesnake skin & for a better word he f’d it up., so , back to the beginning it’s over 30 years ago that I made this for him. And I was just wondering if there’s anything better out there. To treat it with

I’d say they are rolling up, I opted to apply some (clear dying) contact cement. It seems to be working well, I then used a needle & thread & took very small inconspicuous stitches to hold in place. Now back to what can I treat it with to ensure another 30 years of looking good.  In which case it will outlive both the maker (me)  and the owner.
