Members JackPeter Posted July 12, 2024 Members Report Posted July 12, 2024 Hi everyone, I’m using Angelus 4-Coat with an airbrush (Craftool All-in-One airbrush) and I just can’t seem to get anything consistent. I think what’s happening is the 4-Coat is getting tacky in the nozzle. I did read I could use 2-Thin but I’m still getting the same type of consistency. Perhaps I’m adding too much of the coat? Quote

Members dikman Posted July 18, 2024 Members Report Posted July 18, 2024 Glue? It should be the consistency of milk, like doc said, and runny. Are you sure the thinner is the right type for the paint? A quick search shows others having the same problem. It's a urethane finish so will likely need thinning quite a bit but the wrong thinner will certainly turn it "gluggy". Maybe try lacquer thinners? Funnily enough some have said they can spray it straight from the bottle. Perhaps the needle in the airbrush is too fine? Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted July 19, 2024 CFM Report Posted July 19, 2024 i would look closely at the air brush also, can you set the air pressure on that thing or can you even tell if it has pressure? Your paint should be the viscosity of milk like the others say. Quote
Contributing Member Samalan Posted July 19, 2024 Contributing Member Report Posted July 19, 2024 when you put a stick in the paint pull it out when you have no droplets when it runs off the stick it is good. plus the right thinner. Quote
