I have recently acquired this wonderful machine, and am looking for some more bobbins for it. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get any? I currently have two. Thank you.

I´m not 100% sure but could be that Singer 45K bobbins fit - I´d compare the measures.

They look similar, the one I have seems slightly smaller but it might be worth giving it a go, thank you!

BTW your bobbin winder looks as if it is incomplete and from a different machine. Maybe worth checking the 45K bobbin winders too ;)

Contact Toledo sewing machines . . . they are one of our sponsors up there at the top . . . Bob is very knowledgeable . . . I get my cowboy bobbins from him and my Tippmann bobbins from Tipmann.  The tipmann bobbins are smaller . . . but in a pinch, I can use them.  His number is 866-362-7397

Give Bob the dimensions . . . I'd bet he'll have an answer for you.

May God bless,

Dwight

Beautiful old machine, fairly rare even in the UK and like an honest politician elsewhere. There's a few threads scattered around discussing them on this forum.

The bobbin does look about the right shape for a 45K but without anything to scale it off it's hard to tell. My 45K bobbins are 31mm long and 20mm diameter. If your Pilot bobbins are very close to that I would buy a few cheap ones to try gently in the Pilot.

Hartley Sewing in Walsall is one of few dealers likely to have much/any knowledge on these things or parts lying around.

Hi Matt, thank you for your reply, the 45K bobbins seem cheap enough so I might give them a go. I hate running out halfway through a belt!

BUSM (not BUSMC) Pilot. It took a little rabbit trailing to figure out what this one was. British United Shoe Machinery.

Interesting old machine but I'm unlikely to ever run across one in America.
