Members medion Posted January 11 Members Report Posted January 11 Hi all, I do a lot of production sewing which involves wide hems, which I currently do with two passes on a single needle Juki. I'd like to upgrade to something more efficient for this task, and I'm looking into long arm compound feed twin needle machines. From what I can gather however, most needle gauge adjustments max out at 24.4mm / 1" - however I am hoping to achieve something like a 32mm / 1.25" gauge spacing between the two needles. Is anyone able to recommend or suggest machine(s) capable of this? Cheers! Quote
Members nejcek74 Posted January 12 Members Report Posted January 12 (edited) If you check part lists of Pfaff 1242 subclasses, they go up to 72 mm. 1242 is double feed, feed dog and needle fed so it is more an upholstery than a leather-working machine. Btw I have one with a simple 4,8 mm gauge that I use for flat felled seam on fabric. PFAFF 1242 parts.pdf p.s. you didn’t wrote what kind of material and what thickness you would like to work with.
