Contributing Member fredk Posted February 24 Contributing Member Report Posted February 24 I came across this video of a sewing machine being built. The carcass of the sewing machine is already made and the video takes it and us right through to the finished working machine. I think its worth a watch. Its being built in a small works somewhere in the likes of Pakistan or Afghanistan, not in a big factory. No 'Health & Safety' in there! The sewing machine parts starts at about 25 min 38 seconds and goes to about 53 min 42 sec Quote
Members AaronStand Posted February 24 Members Report Posted February 24 (edited) No gloves, respirator, ppe of any type WITH the cigarette in full affect while laying down that paint yikes! Edited February 24 by AaronStand Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted February 24 Author Contributing Member Report Posted February 24 @AaronStand , you should see the workers on other similar videos; no ppe and open toed sandals, or even bare feet, whilst pouring white-hot liquid metal into molds! Quote
Members stitchgearhead Posted February 24 Members Report Posted February 24 Amazing! Another world... Quote
Members Cumberland Highpower Posted February 24 Members Report Posted February 24 (edited) Those videos really are an inspiration. If they could squat/sit in the dirt and work away to create useable items, so could I. Kinda reminds me of my younger days....LOL Edited February 24 by Cumberland Highpower Quote
Members amuckart Posted Thursday at 09:24 AM Members Report Posted Thursday at 09:24 AM If you’ve ever wondered what workplaces without OSHA and EPA would look like, here’s your answer. I feel sorry for that painter, and his family, and I don’t want to think about the poor sods working wherever those parts got chromed. Quote

That said it is amazing what can be done with simple / simpler tools. kgg Quote
