Members Hags Posted Wednesday at 06:40 PM Members Report Posted Wednesday at 06:40 PM I acquired this pistol in the early 80s. I gave it to my dad shortly after. He passed away 4 years ago and it was still there. With the original rounds I gave him. Its been in the safe since. And finally got it out. It's a 357 mag, so usable in the PNW, and since I have had a slew of shoulder holster requests, I practiced on this one. It fits pretty well for a fishing gun, wearing waders really only a chest rig or shoulder holster makes sense. Also nice under a vest of jacket. Hermann Oaks 8/9oz Sewn on a Cobra class 3. 277 bonded nylon top and bottom. Fiebings pro dye dark brown 1 inch elastic from Milspec Monkey. https://milspecmonkey.com/store/hardware-diy/1194-3322-70e-elastic-webbing.html#/27-color-coyote/95-width-1inch. Nice stuff, softer than average elastic. Think that's it. Quote

Members Gezzer Posted Wednesday at 08:43 PM Members Report Posted Wednesday at 08:43 PM Really nice !!!!!! The single strap is way more comfortable to me than the 90 cross in my back ( even done with leather ) . I bet the elastic is very comfortable Quote
Members Dwight Posted Thursday at 02:17 PM Members Report Posted Thursday at 02:17 PM Actually it is a really good job . . . and this is only a comment . . . not meant as a complaint. If it were mine . . . it would have a thumb break . . . especially if I were wearing it in the water. There does not look like there is a lot of leather that would hold it in if it needed to be held in. May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members Hags Posted Thursday at 06:33 PM Author Members Report Posted Thursday at 06:33 PM Thanks guys. I might have thought of a strap or thumb break if I were going to use it fishing. But, my days of wading are gone. Mostly just hiking now. Also, there is quite a bit of retention in the back piece that molds around the cylinder, the trigger guard, and the bit that covers the cylinder in front. It does stay in the holster when held upside down, not that I would do handstands though. Thank you for the suggestion. Quote
Members TonyV Posted Friday at 01:53 AM Members Report Posted Friday at 01:53 AM Nice desigh, I like it. Did you use rivets or chicago screws to attach the holster to the strap? Quote
