Members PLARCustoms Posted yesterday at 03:06 AM Members Report Posted yesterday at 03:06 AM Hello my name is Holdyn Pilant from Plarcustoms, I wanted to know if people like the bag I have been working on I’m trying to perfect it but I just needed some insight and some tips. Quote
Members JDFred Posted yesterday at 04:24 AM Members Report Posted yesterday at 04:24 AM You have a good design on your bag. I would use leather on the shoulder strap and maybe put a small tab on the tongue of your bag closure that locks into the loop to help keep it closed in case of a spill. Keep up the good work. Quote
toxo Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Just a suggestion, On the next one you might try putting the front panel OVER the gusset. Of course it's personal choice but this would give a more rounded look and open the interior rather than closing it. Quote

Thanks for the ideas I was off and on about rounding it out but figured I’d see how it looked like this. Quote

Thank you, what color and weight do you think I should have my strap as I don’t have to much of that leather left but I have a bunch of other sides I can use. And yeah I was thinking last night on what to do for a better closure wasn’t sure if a magnetic snap would be better or what. Quote
Members rleather Posted 9 hours ago Members Report Posted 9 hours ago I second that the strap needs to be leather and front panel over the gusset. But overall a nice proto. Quote

I like the tongue and loop closure you have on the bag maybe you could add a hidden magnet or snap on the end of the tongue. On your gusset if you use a lighter weight leather it will help prevent the rolling in of the panels as the panels would have more rigidity than the gusset. It would also give you the option of using a different color leather for a nice contrast. If you do that make your closure match the gusset color to tie everything together. Quote
AlZilla Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago If it's mine, I'd burnish all those exposed edges and put some kind of edge decoration on the flap. Definitely a leather strap and not just a plain strap. Maybe some stitching or creasing to match whatever I did to the flap edge. Maybe I'd try my hand at some kind of a rolled strap? And a closure, for sure, the ladies like a secure purse. A mystery braid makes a nice handle, too. Since your strap detaches, you could offer 2 lengths, a regular carry handle and a cross body option. Oh, and pockets. Ladies love nooks and crannies. Nice work so far. Members dikman Posted 6 hours ago Members Report Posted 6 hours ago Leather strap for sure, even if it's left plain it will be more in keeping with the overall look. And watch your stitching, it all looks good except for the piece holding the tongue loop down. It was the first thing that hit me being highly visible. Other than that, what the others said.
